Did anyone watch the Southtown XIII Ranbats? Good fun. The chat started off really retarded but it settled down into classic random sillyness.

More gamecom footage coming up... like HOURS and HOURS... I thought about transcribing the differences from arcade to console, but really, what's the point when it's not final?

More and more rumours floating about about DLC characters, let me just whisper quietly in your ear that it's all crap, all of it. Well, ok, there is one guy that has guessed one DLC character correctly but of course I'm not allowed to confirm or even deny anything. SNKP/ RSG / Atlus will bring you more news soon enough, just try not to go crazy listening to the grapevine.

the first bit of gossip i actually experienced on 4chan, when some guy from gamefaqs decided to pull a prank and pretend his information was from neogaf (which i was JUST reading before i saw the post), saying ridiculous stuff about botan and ron. i started double-checking neogaf to see if i just overlooked something and was like, welp, this guy's a phony.

otherwise, everything on 4chan's end has been just mere speculation and wishlisting--many people are guessing that right side green slime monster is may lee, and that we're getting EX kyo (speculated because of tweet activity), and i think some people have said hinako, though i'm not really seeing that. but w/e, guess we'll find out whenever, but snkp REAAAAAAALLY needs to get the ball rolling on the reveals because sfxtekken and umvc3 reveals are gonna overshadow them otherwise, sadly. of course, nothing can beat a reveal of poison and the possible return of one miss kanzuki*

i'm going to pretend one of those two green slime monsters is shermie, and she also runs the fashion boutique where you can "buy" more alt costumes for your character

oh yeah, i forgot to mention, i watched ALL of those videos from that dune interview page, and goddamn, the console kofxiii is super hype

GET OUTTA HERE. if she's so popular in japan, i should be seeing more pixiv uploads of fanart dedicated to such a character. fanarts of her crossing over with hamtaro while designing clothes for hamtaro and herself and friends and enemies. figure-skating better than kula, and not the other way around on mobile dating sim things, and kula cheats anyway with the power of ice. and pictures of...more mature nature. such as her playing adult jenga

it is sad that she's not as popular in america as people would rather have vanessa or blue mary, neither of which do i mind, but shermie will always be top in my heart

i also once made a bet that i would have to dance naked in the streets if shermie became playable in kofxiii (kofxiv dreammatch does not count), i made this bet because it's a very safe bet, and thank god that she appeared in the background already

which is weird, because now that i think about it, i don't see yashiro in any backgrounds? very suspicious

Bah, from the start it was totally obvious that the only thing that you can confirm is that you are half drunk, too old to work for free and that you spend your time at home dressed as a french purple girl.

For the record the last time I checked the new faces team was super popular in Asia, however they are "really" popular with the people that started playing in 98' or before, most of the people that started playing after that are too busy to care about them, busy with cheezing the day in and out with K' or Kula or whatever top tier character the current game has for selection for.

BTW the rumor windmill about this game has been completely ridiculous, it has gotten to the point where I'd just rather stay away from any other eng speaking board else I risk facepalming heavily for the whole day while I lose what little faith I had for humanity.... In the end my only desire right now is that SNK would be kind enough to reveal the whole cast before the game is out; I don't want to battle it out with 50 game challenges just to find out that the last face in the selection screen is someone I don't care about in the least

it's unfortunate that the only way the attention whores are going to shut up about it is when snkp actually just comes out with the information--i couldn't care less about speculation, but right now, it's the only thing that those of us without access to even the beta or arcade versions (neverminding piracy) of the game can do right now with respect to discussing kofxiii, speculating and wishlisting and "no vanessa no ...buy" nonsense, but otherwise, i'm trying to encourage people to give kofxiii a chance in other areas and i have managed to succeed with a few people

Every year when there is a teaser of more characters, we get attention whores. has it really got worse than usual? I don't think so, but I actually hope so, because it brings more attention to the game.

Now that I have to look at potential sales rather than fun, what snkp really needs to know is whether the hordes of rumour mongers and people who are eating up this hype are actually people who will buy the game or it's just some stupid fad to pass the time. Will the people who said no mai no buy actually buy xiii or was it just some excuse which they are now swapping with vanessa?

Of course I would love to see shermie but I didn't think she was that popular in japan until I heard something recently. How snkp gets these indicators, this I don't know. What I do know is that the results of the poll we ran put rock howard first, vanessa 2nd and chris shermie yashiro 3rd. I've sent the poll to snkp however it was quite late in development. So I have no idea if they will take it into consideration. Referring to your point about fan art, again it's tricky to gauge whether fans of the art are fans of the game and actual paying customers rather than kids trolling the internet in between classes. Kof fans have long been known for being more interested in fan fiction than combos (holy crap you remember that!) so again it's hard to figure out what will actually sell.

Sorry Shiny, have pity on me. The irony of my situation is burning me up. They gave me a little privileged info but if I spill it, I won't get any more, all so I can get more info that I can't share? Huh? Maybe I should have stuck to scanning famitsu and making wild guesses with everyone else. I would have been happier.

YES, GUNSMITH, I REMEMBER BALI CHICKEN FANFIC. i would never forget something that made me laugh, as if i was reading a multimediocre knight website!

it might not even be as big of a deal as we're making it out to be here (re: school boy kyo) and who knows, it'll just turn out to be a neat little bonus for using his classic kyo alt costume in arcade mode. at best/worst, that version of kyo at least plays different enough from the one currently in xiii to be somewhat meaningful, but i can understand why people would be upset over the taking of a slot. but at that point, it wouldn't be any hard for them to have several EX versions of kyo representing the clone versions either with all the different combinations of movesets, kyo-1, kyo-2, kusanagi, as long as they're kept away from being a separate slot. that's also a question, how does iori with flames function at the select screen? that japan locale test video doesn't really give any kind of indication of where he's put, like if you're holding a button down over his xiii icon before selecting him or if selecting a different palette of him affects his moveset or what, but someone *has* to know at this point. really, it'd be kind of sad that people of japan are keeping hush hush about their observations, or if i had just overlooked any comments about it in the first place.

i once sent a letter to snkp's support line in japanese asking for a small simulation game of shermie raising a hamster a la virtua hamster, even though i don't like simulator games, but never got a response
