An unfortunate experience during a football match with hooligans have made me considering a change of career. The job I have applied for is just clerk, the dude who sort out and supply the shop and help the customer. Thanksfully I don't have to do the cashier. Not the best job ever but hey the workplace is only 15 minutes away from my home, by walking. I won't have to worry about strikes that may get me fired.Foxhole wrote:

@m0p: I first started to take a walk every evening (3 mi), keeping what I ate at a normal size. Also nixed soda and fast foodstuffs. Then as I started to lose, I got more light on my feet and started to run as well. Depending on my time, I will also do sets of push ups and sit ups. Basic stuff for the most part.

Shiny: I'm a sit-upper too - although I question what effect they have for my purposes. If you don't mind my asking - how many do you do and are they working for you?
And kudos for giving up soda. I know it's horrible for me but goodness do I ever love it...

Neat~ I can pretty much live without soda (substituted with low sugar tea drinks, low calorie juice drinks, carbonated flavored water). I should really try to be more strict with the foodstuffs coz I started to sort of come back to the sweet stuff.Shiny wrote:@m0p: I first started to take a walk every evening (3 mi), keeping what I ate at a normal size. I'm up to 100 a set as I pick my endurance up. I started last month as I started feeling better about my progress and felt I could do more outside of walking/running. As of now, it's not showing a hell of a lot of difference, but I'm tightening up some around my midsection. Problem is with me maintaining this progress.Apathy Wind wrote:Shiny: I'm a sit-upper too - although I question what effect they have for my purposes. I ain't gonna lie, cutting soda's probably been the hardest. The liquid cocaine that is Coca-Cola and its ilk.
*looks longingly into one of those coolers where the 16 oz. drinks are.*

I usually drink seltzer water in place of soda. I feel like I'm on a 12 step program from addiction to Sprite. :/\Monpochi wrote:Neat~ I can pretty much live without soda (substituted with low sugar tea drinks, low calorie juice drinks, carbonated flavored water). So, you may recall me mentioning this "MOAI" platform thing I was helping develop about 8 months ago.
It's nice how things change. We've gotten some stellar support, and with the current release anyone can try it now. Not entirely beginner-friendly, but I think it'll be worth learning if you want to get into cross-platform mobile development. I'm helping develop a game for it that's not mentioned yet, but if you search our website you'll probably run into it.
And that's all the shilling I can handle from myself for the year, so this is where I shut up.

Bought parts for a new computer. Started assembly this morning, then bent the fastening pins on the heatsink which brought the entire enterprise to a screeching halt. Bleh.
There's a special place in hell for the clownboat at Intel who designed the stock heatsinks from the Core 2 Duo on up...
