Re: How was your day?
Shiny, this is a very late reply, but much condolences to you. It's going to soon be the 5th year anniversary of my mother's passing, and I know exactly how you feel. You could say I've still been recovering from it myself despite the long period of time.
We're all here for you man, you're not alone. My friends and my family were wonderful support during those tough times.

Thanks for the support, Iie. It's been a little over a month, and my mind is still wrapping itself around the gravity of the situation. I was closest to my mother, so it's hurting me to the bone. I'm in an actual city, big difference from the podunk place I spawned from, so it's a lot of adjustments. Best thing is that I am working.
Sorry for the threadjack, but I felt you all deserved an explanation for my erratic absence the past few months. Doesn't explain YOUR absence though, Iie.

Tiresome. My parents probably feel the same way too. My dad in particular was ready to welcome me into the company he's working for. I was all set to move to a second job, but alas. It's a good thing I waited for their HR. As such, I don't think I'll leave this current job in the near future. I'm giving it an extra year or two.
omg. On the other hand, this made my day. I hope you guys will like this too:

These KoF/basketball player images are hilarious.
Spent most of the past couple of days relaxing becuase of Eid week. Been also rewatching Azumanga Daioh again and thus rekindled my love for the series. Also got to watch the Turtles Forever movie (crossover between 80's and 2003 TMNT) and that was pretty good - though it misses the 80's TMNT voices and they made them a little too silly.

Re: How was your day?
I received an email from my work to apply for Christmas leave early. I applied for weekend of 19/20 and 25/26 off (though I tried to cancel it at one stage but no luck still approved). No news of them being declined so I just presume everything is good.
I have one wedding each weekend one of those weekends. 19/20 I am the best man. 25/26 I am going to be in China.
Now I find out I only got one of the weekends approved for leave and I'm being told I have to choose which wedding to attend hahahaha. Hmmmm best man or 1.5k plane ticket

Re: How was your day?
Well I was basically told by my boss that I should probably start shopping my resume around again.
So yeah, not a great day, I have to say.

Yeah - what dumb-ass lets SS go?
Someone got stabbed last night a couple houses down from me. I had a nice midnight conversation with a police officer while a heliocopter searched the area looking for the perps. Talk about taking your work home with you...

Re: How was your day?
Very sorry to hear that, SS. I mirror IB's sentiments.
AW: I didn't realize how bad crime was here in Orlando. In the short time I've been here, I've heard of a woman being raped off of the interstate, a guy mowing down ex co-workers, and Tiger Woods plowing into a tree (and other women). Luckily I stay in a comparatively good neighborhood. Hope Stabby still isn't on the prowl.
