This thread's been alive a long time.
What happened has happened, let it be. Zidane's headbutt won't be a smudge on his CV after all he has done. A light header like that was too little in my book, if what Razzi said WAS that offensive, the fact that he gleefully went to ground showed the world what kind of players the Italians truly are.
Destruction of Serie A? I am ALL for it.

That's a pretty retarded generalization.
Materazzi is a dick and i'd rather not have him represent my country, but nobody can say the italian players are like him, unless biased.
The Serie A has its good share of problems because corruption amongst managers, players don't have anything to do with it.
And Zidane, he's the best player i've ever seen, but he's not new to this kind of reaction. So let's think about it a bit.

Ronnie blames PS2 for poor WC form.

I blame the fact that he played FIFA instead of WE/PES.

So EURO 2008 starts this weekend! Germany are the outright favorites for some reason, but didn't they finish second in their qualifying group to the Czech Republic? Spain are looking strong as always, but I expect them to bottle it, as always. Cannavaro out for Italy? They are in the group of death along with France and Holland - who knows what will happen there. Transfer rumours surround Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, and he has always been the subject of debate as to his big-game prowess. How will the Player of the Year respond to such circumstances? England failed to qualify, of course.
So there's a lot of troubles surrounding the big nations in this tournament. Perhaps a team like Greece in 2004 can make some shocking progress. I have my eye on Croatia, who helped knocked out England in the qualifiers, and Russia, who have Guus Hiddink at the helm who has proved that he can turn any team in contenders.
So who is everyone's picks for the tournament? Golden Boot? Dark Horses? Would also be interesting to hear from Sheba and Fuu on France and Italy's chances.
