Well, I think that as much as I am not the greatest fan of Italy's defense-based playing, the referee definately didn't help them to win.Gaseous Snake wrote:
As for the penalty, well clearly the Italian didn't need help going down, but that tackle was just dumb dumb dumb. Why would you slide like that unless the guy's about to shoot into the net?
Yeah, that tackle was ugly.

Germany and Argentina played with hi-lv skillz, from what I could see. Hey, that's what I WANNA SEE IN A WORLD CUP.
And... well, the "lol the country that hosts the world cup will advance further than usual" syndrome may have appeared here, but at least Germany IS a country with good football, putting their shitty performance in Japan-Korea aside *stares @ Korea once again*

But... you want ENGRAND to looze!?
Well, if they continue to play the crap they are playing, sure, send them home to their friendly newspaper headlines and long time critics, but remember! Portugal have several key first team members missing tonight...
Germny won deservedly, doggedness and determination do bring you just that little further, now they play Italy... and oh God, I DO fancy the Germans more. Ballack was completely out of it the last few minutes of extra time. Mmm, fitness woes.
Anyone know anything about the post match scrap? I couldn't hear a damn thing when the club I was watching soccer at turned up the music seeing that the game was over.
And may I add that the DJ that night was a complete prick.
Ukraine out. So?

Thus far, I feel that not all the teams that has gotten this far feel like they are 'sure-fire' champions. Germany has spotty defense, Italy and Brazil aren't playing at their best (but are slowly getting better) and England plays boring football and still manages to win. I still can't grasp France as they started the WC without the ability to score goals and suddenly they came back with 3 goals against Spain.
For tonight I'd say that England will win the game with boring style, 1-0 and I think that's it. Portugal lost some key players from the Holland match. I'd rather watch the France-Brazil match tonight.
Thus far who do you guys think is the best player of this World Cup? I'm thinking Klose thus far. I'd say Buffon is probably second...need to watch more matches.
