This is an interview with Ono about Poison, but there's an interesting tidbit at the end - he gets asked about CvS3 (again), and comment on having tried out KoF XIII, liking it and warming up to the idea: http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/egm ... inori-ono/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Who knows how (counter)productive this might be - a lot of hardcore SF players take issue with how SF4 was handled and seem to hate Ono and the idea he might get his hands on more franchises like Darkstalkers (the fact that his shameless self-promoting antics have reached the point of getting himself in a poster with Harada in a SFxT stage billboard doesn't help). This praise could go either way, but still an interesting note.

Sadly I feel like it's one of those things where people get pissed but still buy it. Really wish it wasn't like that because maybe some people would look elsewhere for once.
SFxT looks so disappointing to me these days. Sure adding older characters is cool and all, but I feel sick when I see Pandora and Gems.

It's showing off character-specific changes in the console version. I was halfway through translating it when I saw the Prof had already done it:

Re: The King of Fighters XIII/KOF-i News Thread
Oh actually the prof made a mistake with Shen's move descriptions
There we go* SHEN WOO PUNCH LITE Fakeout has faster recovery. It'll fail if the kick button is pressed too soon.
SHEN WOO PUNCH LITE maxed out will chip half the opponent's guard meter
* SHEN WOO BITCHSLAP (throw) comes out slower. Neither weak nor fierce has invincibility. However, it can be Drivecanceled.
* SHEN WOO BITCHSLAP (reflect) builds up meter on a success. No drive meter buildup.
* EX SHEN WOO HAMMER > SHEN WOO FOLLOWUP has slower recovery when blocked. Completely punishable
Producer Yamamoto says: We've did a lot of adjustments to his SHEN WOO BITCHSLAP. The throw version is no longer 1F, but it can be drive canceled for additional damage. SHEN WOO PUNCH LITE's feint has quicker recovery so it can be used to lengthen attack strings.

I had a similar experience, I was eagerly awaiting the blog update (thinking that it was about Shin Kyo) but when it got too late I said "screw it, I'll do it tomorrow".SonicTempest wrote: I was halfway through translating it when I saw the Prof had already done it:
Now that I wake up and everything was magically done almost in a Cinderella kind of fashion, for these few oh-so-more-technical-than-I-would-like blog entries, I wonder if I should act like I don't have the time and leave everything on the Prof's hands

What the fuck… they actually listened!!
A company that cares about its fans? Who knew!Max on Sat Aug 13, 2011 11:45 am wrote:Dear developers:
If you happen to be listening, since you are actually modifying the speeches of most (if not all) characters, would you please give Mature her laugh back?
Sincerely, moi.

Lol I thought I was the only one to notice that about the laugh. These changes are great, loving what they did to Ebony Tears.

Erm... The laugh was never gone in the first pace. It's just that people weren't good at using her Max2.ZeroSoulreaver wrote:Lol I thought I was the only one to notice that about the laugh. These changes are great, loving what they did to Ebony Tears.

No, but you may be the only one reading IGN.
That was all very well and good, but it doesn't tell us anything about input lag, or where the two players were located respective to each other. Would have been nice to know...

What are u talking about? That vid doesn't even show XIII. I'm talking about in XIII she didn't have the laugh til this update. I even have it on the iphone and she never had that in XIII til now.Toxic Avanger wrote:Erm... The laugh was never gone in the first pace. That always seems to be the issue, seems like companies never really tell about those kinda issues much and if they do it's very vague.SonicTempest wrote:No, but you may be the only one reading IGN.

Re: The King of Fighters XIII/KOF-i News Thread
As far as I know, if the console version is REALLY successful, then either the arcade will get patched or an upgrade will be available for a fee. The arcade industry is in big trouble right now and it's a big risk to support it. Considering the game will be released in around a month, if I was an arcade owner I wouldn't touch XIII until I hear about the patch or upgrade, and it's a good bet the upgrade will be expensive...

Re: The King of Fighters XIII/KOF-i News Thread
Aram from Atlus has stepped up to provide some much-needed context to that netplay video from IGN:
http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php? ... 0#msg29810" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://dreamcancel.com/forum/index.php? ... 0#msg29810" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So...NorCal to SoCal.Regarding the videos recently posted on IGN (and please don't mind that I basically copied and pasted my text from the KOF thread on GAF):
The videos showing offline matches against AI opponents were taken on the second-to-easiest AI setting, which explains why the AI simply stands there.
The primary purpose of my visit to their offices, which was to give them a hands-on of the netcode, is represented in the video of a full, start-to-finish online match. That match was conducted between myself, located in San Francisco, CA, and a member of our production staff down in Irvine, CA (Bay area CA versus Southern CA).
Unfortunately, the nature of the video and the lack of the write-up fail to offer any additional context. I'll ask you all to be a bit patient, as there's plenty more coverage of the game, including the netcode, hitting soon, including an On the Spot stage demo, filmed live at GameSpot HQ, which also features a full online match.
Thank you for all of your passion; the KOF community really is second to none!
