Is it me or PSN is DEAD

I mean how many people got access to Inet nowdays and play online? I stop playing rank Match to do some training in Player Match and every time i get in theres always 7 or 8 people online.....................

how many people got the game??? I was expecting like 100s of them being online :S unless everyone is playing rank mode :S

uh, i'm on psn, but i don't play kofxiii online because it's not tolerable enough

sadly, i've taken going back to bbcs as far as fighting games go (or ah3) when it comes to online play

once kofxiii netplay works i'll play it online again because trust me, i'd love to play it more often, and i don't have an offline scene for it sadly, and training mode is not a good substitute for match experience

I pointed this out earlier, everyone is on ranking mode. They don't care about the lag, they want the trophies.

Also, most american players are actually on xbox live. All my friends are on PSN, but all the serious fighting games players are on XBL. There's a good reason for that but I need to do more testing to prove it.

I'm on PSN, but I'm not even playing online matches, it's pretty much unplayable.

Once in a while I play with my friend, and even then we only get 3 bars even though we live 7 blocks from each other. If the netcode gets some tweaking, which I highly doubt it will, you will see me online and killing as many people as I possibly can.

A decent practice is to play ranked match and then get friends with the people you meet there you have a satisfying connection with. And well that have a skill level near yours obviously. I'm not terribly lucky since I mostly find people that are much better and aren't very interested in fighting me or much much worse, but I got a few decent contacts.

Frankly the online is not great but it's pretty playable most of the time. I do find that the bars are sometimes misleading though, I had 1 bar connections that were surprisingly good and 3 bars that were pretty shitty.

In my region it's pretty dead. I usually have to select outside my region to get any kind of match which means lag, so I don't play online. When the game first released their were a few games at least but now their are none it seems.

I honestly don't really want to play ranked because them ranked shenanigans won't help me get better. Going to see if my friend is willing to play but she hasn't played KOF in months.
Still eagerly waiting the netcode patch but at this point I don't expect a miracle in the patch.

If I open a room on player match, I am sometimes waiting 10 minutes with no joy and quit, but I find when I do get a game its playable, as soon as I go ranked mode though I usually get challengers right away. If the lag wasnt so bad on ranked matches I would play more as you can savour a win more and save the replay without worrying about the player on the other end waiting.

I am still finding lots of players playing their first online matches too.

Speaking for myself here and I'm going to be downright honest and I hope it doesn't come off as too much of a rant here. These are just my opinions and my personal reasons for why I'm never on KOF online and it may apply to why you say that.

PS3 actually does have a lot of players on it (least when I'm on) , unfortunately a lot of them are elitists. Truth be told I haven't played this game as much as I should have , a lot of stuff came out and I got really sick for the last month now and I know this sounds strange but since I really get into my fighting games I don't play them when I'm sick. Everytime I do I get a headache or something and I can't do that on top of what I have , everything else doesn't make me focus as much.

I cannot tell you how many times during my few times of playing this game online , getting unaccepted into a room because of my low rank or kicked our within one match. I cannot tell you how many times I see some of the same people do this over and over , and the best part is some of them are spammers with absolutely no skill (and I'm the self proclaimed KOF nub) just doing it for rank ups. Not to mention I came from a majority of Crapcom fighters where I THOUGHT I saw it all XD.

And yes I have made plenty of rooms and It seems like everyone just leaves the second they enter and see the ranks. Which doesn't make sense because it's a win/win for everybody. I get experience and maybe I can finally rank up more or they take advantage of my low rank my kofnubness and whoop me.

So aside from being sick this whole time , I'm not even that bothered by the connection crap. I'm more bothered by the players. Just my 2 cents. I will gladly play you anytime I feel good and you're up for it. Add me I'm on that PS3 list.

Went on PSN last night and found nobody on player match but a good amount of trophy hunters were there on ranked mode!

As the monster was saying, they're mostly cheap as hell, but at the end of the day, they're not playing for fun. They're playing to win, and it's great experience - nobody expects you to play nicely in a tournament!

And it's even more fun when you win

If you can find two bar or three bar, you can get used to it (it's the ultimate training for patience and self control )

Sorry for the old post but I think is necesary to comment.

PSN is not dead, but I had this bad experience when I disabled UPNP in PS3 (and did port forwarding), when I did created a room, nobody entered in ranked nor player match, some days with this probloem, I asked a friend in my contact list asking if he could view my room in list and his answer was NO, after, I reenabled UPNP inmediatelly entered in my rooms.

I don't know which is the use for UPNP in PS3, (the same port UPNP opens I did port forwarding and not works), but definitely is not only for media servers.
