Noticed in the promo videos regarding the HDSM hidden berserk moves. Even though its a held cancellation, it goes into overdrive if held too long.
But then the HDSM can go from quick to "burst" mode. Taking a huge assortment of an opponent's health bar. Maybe this updated setlist is meant for another reason.
I don't mind it at all. I actually prefer this setup. Seems to have a one-up on SFIV actually.

Are you talking about standing A or sitting A?

If standing A, then it should be same as Guile: flashkick A,D

For the trial is actually just better to do crouching .B x 3 and then up .A+.C twice quickly.

I suppose I'm having a similar-ish execution problem. Specifically I'm having a bit of bother Drive cancelling from dragon punch motions to fireball motions without triggering super cancels, i.e. K's crow bites to Ein Trigger or Elisabeth's uppercut into Etincelles. I've tried making sure that I'm releasing the dpad between motions, that my dps are clean and finishing on diagonals, my quarter circles come are complete before I hit the attack button.

Any tips for a brotha'?

There's a 'shortcut' (I use quotes because the actual command is more complicated) to get that to work - input HCB,f for the DP and then a QCF.

Oddly enough if you're doing a dp+P into a QCF+K (or vice versa) you can motion the dp+P and then simply press K for the drive cancel to come out. So I think SNKP put in some code specifically to prevent drive cancels from dps to QCFs using the same button, particularly since I remember this being a problem in the early beta tests.

I had several methods but none of them are consistent in XIII. You can try to do the dp motion and then tap the button, but I hate this because I need to change the way I dp into a delayed input so that this can work. Bleh.

the only method i do is the DP .P , and then time the fwd .P (another tap of the punch button) so that the drive cancel comes out without accidentally executing a qcf qcf .P type move. but you have to careful not to buffer the DP from another move you're doing too early or the input buffer is going to forget the dwn df parts when you do your fwd .P

i saw juicebox mistakingly trying to do DP .P qcf .A .C on his stream when he was doing...i think it was mission 5 for elizabeth? i wanted to tell him how to do it the way that the game expects it, but i didn't have a justin.tv account, and i was at my uni at the time and...apparently my university is banned from justin.tv :/ so all i could do was sit there and watch

but, apparently someone told him how to do it or he figured it out by mistake--he managed to figure it out eventually, in any case.

but he looks as though he's hitting trials hardcore.

I think I c&p this before but here it is again for sake of simplicity:
Shortcuts/Sequential Buffering:
I'll post all the ones I know from previous KOFs as well, they should all work but if they don't please correct me.

-All qcf~hcb motions --> qcf x2~back + button
-Similarly, qcb~hcf --> qcb x2~f
-qcb~hcf --> qcb~db~f
-qcf~hcb --> qcf~df~b
-dp --> hcb~f

-Dash hcb x2 command throws (e.g Clark's DM)--> (somewhat close) hcb~f x2~hcb + button

-Canceling qcf into qcf x2 (e.g Shen's qcf+P, [DC] qcf x2+P) --> qcf + button, qcf+ button
-Canceling qcf into qcf~hcb (e.g Liz's qcf+P, [DC] qcf~hcb+P) --> qcf + button, hcb + button
-Canceling dp into qcf~hcb (e.g Yuri's dp+P, [DC] qcf~hcb+K DM) --> dp + button, hcb + button
-Canceling c.d~u into c.b~f (e.g Leona's c.d~u+P, [DC] c.b~f+K) --> c.db/d~ub + button, [DC] uf (or f)+ button
-Canceling dp into qcf inside HD mode only (e.g Kyo's dp+P [1hit], [DC] qcf+P...) --> dp+P, f+P (Liz seems to be the only character that can do this outside of HD)
*Canceling dp into qcf for K', outside of HD --> hcb~f+P, qcf+P

-Tricky motions like Shen's CABC can be hard to buffer. You can start buffering it while getting up, in the air, during the ending frames of a move or even off a s.C itself. A useful trick is to tap in this order (just hold the down motion the whole time): d.A, d.C, d.A, d.B (this will buffer the first 3 inputs) and press C when you want to activate the DM. By doing this technique, Shen appears to only do two d.As (since neither d.C or d.B link off of d.As), as soon as the opponent jumps, press C.
Technically, if it's Liz's dp+A, you can just input dp+A~tap A again. As long as you're not holding downforward (return to neutral) it'll short cut for Liz as well. The C version dp doesn't hold a long enough buff so you have to input qcf+P manually if I remember correctly.

Should also remember that the dummy are position in the right position to do the mission combos. Dont try to move them out from the default start point. I know the later combos (depending on character) are space specific

Those "shortcuts" really help a lot, it can be mindbogling at times to try and figure out what type of input is needed to cancel the special as fast as possible.

Trials are giving me a hard time but its so damn rewarding to get then done... cause after trying for like a couple of hours and then nailing that HD combo just makes you feel like a BOSS.
