It depends on the store, I know a ton of small stores out here in NY break street date. Some just don't have to follow the rules of release dates and release a item as soon as they have it stocked. I doubt KOF will be released early like Ultimate. Ultimate is different since I remember MvC3 being released a week early as well.

Pretty much all I got. Are you looking for some magical new information?hadoolket wrote:oh come now, is a countdown all we have to say for kofxiii anymore?
There's one place I know of that breaks the street date in central Florida, but it's too far out of the way. Plus, I don't think I would get my preorder bonus if I got it from there..screw that, I need my soundtrack.
Once again, lots of positivity towards XIII. I hope it can be capitalized upon.
8 days. JEAH.

If you're still up and a glutton for watching other people play except you, here is a pre-release stream brought to you by Level|Up.

Announced on the stream -
EX Iori will be released on Dec 6th for 400MSP/$5. Comes with a stage, and two BGMs (classic and rearranged versions of Arashi no Saxophone 2).
There will also apparently be an announcement of some sort of Atlus' website tomorrow morning.

Im gonna be going on a hunting spree tomorrow.
Approach the old lady workers at the shop. Request the game, she goes to the back in the storage room to give you the game while oblivious at the 'Do not open' sign.

I just realised something.
The changelog stated that Ash can now use Germinal for free after powering up.
Could this mean that Dark Ash will be able to use Germinal without any restrictions?
Makes me wonder.

I don't feel like traveling to get it early when I got stuff to do. Besides as said... you won't get the cd if you get it early.

Well, I didn't preorder. My country laws are tricky regarding games and the customs are twice as tricky as well; so there is a big chance that a game import by "official means" will violate the piracy laws and you either won't get your game nor money at all, or you'll get your package something like 8 months late.Gunsmith wrote:Well I'm not going shopping - won't have the pre-order bonus with it!
Heck, one of my friends works in the customs and he has problems bringing games from abroad

Re: The King of Fighters XIII/KOF-i News Thread
Did you ask the store if they support the pre-order bonus? Some do.
To confirm, there IS a guy in the UK with a copy, but that's because he works for HMV. There's probably quite a few workers like him who get games early. However, the game is still not on sale to the general public.

Er... Um...
It seems XIII uses GSS netcode...
http://www.atlus.com/forum/showpost.php ... stcount=49" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also, someone at Neo-Arcadia who already have a copy of this game tested the Netcode saying that it's laggy at least 1-2 bars. Game runs better at higher than 2 bars (5 bars maximum).
http://neo-arcadia.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 00#p613537" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
BTW, Regarding the Neo-Arcadia Article (just another case of "Lost in Translation")
http://www.mmcafe.com/cgi-bin/forums/bb ... html#59067" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For now, We have until Tuesday to know about the netcode...
Also... More torture...

And...

(May be a long shot, but at least we tried)

I remember netcode optimizations and stuff...He mentioned he only found 2 people online, which is understandable and almost a best case scenario this early on when almost no one has the game - the guy speculates the 2 people he saw online were american, so 2 bars from another continent wouldn't be too bad if that's the case.

Re: The King of Fighters XIII/KOF-i News Thread
Jesus fucking Christ, this GSS bullshit has been making the rounds, hasn't it? Blame Siliconera and SRK for stirring up hysteria.
I'm going to copy-paste what I wrote over at the Atlus forums about this.
I'm going to copy-paste what I wrote over at the Atlus forums about this.
Long story short, the fact that they're using GSS means nothing.DISCLAIMER - I do not work for Atlus, nor am I a game developer (although I am a software engineer, if that holds any weight)
First off, Siliconera never said what their source was for this information. It may very well be the in-game credits or something, but if that's the case, they should have mentioned it.
Second off, using GSS is not the same thing as using the same netcode implementation as another game that also happened to use GSS. Case in point - KOF XII actually had two separate implementations of its networking code, both using GSS - the first one was the one that didn't render the next frame until all input information had been sent and acknowledged (resulting in the 'underwater battle' feel at launch). Post-patch, it became more like Street Fighter IV's netcode - using input lag to compensate for poor latency.
What does this mean? It means that GSS is capable of sustaining at least two approaches to handling networking in a fighting game. The logical conclusion, therefore, is that GSS is probably just a networking library that SNKP has chosen to use, probably because they have experience using it. No-one knows what they actually have done with it, and no-one will know until the game ends up in people's hands on Nov 22nd. But the important point is - GSS is most likely just a tool. What matters is how that tool was used.
That said, if anyone IS in fact a game developer and has implemented networking support in a game using GameSyncSDK, please feel free to set me straight on this matter.
And that's all I have to say on the matter.
