Um... Athena is High tier, but grapplers are at their most deadly: Goro is God in this game, followed by O.Yashiro and Vice. Choi can be deadly but requires expert hands. Still Goro and Ralf outprioritize with not so much difficulty.

Are you kidding? Just freaking and rewarding ease of use. BnB combo is pretty damaging AND easy, not to mention that it's quite likely to hit by canceling his far C into fwd+A. O.Y's got godly preference with that jD of his and his sB to poke and put pressure gettin away with it. Even if you're an expert, qcb+p still is a threat when used sparingly and surprisingly. Crouch C snuffs pretty much any aerial attack. And, despite being huge, a crouched Yashiro is safe from many moves like Kyo's R.E.D. Kick.

Er... Huh? :o

Heavy D. is a bit complex and you gotta know him well to reap good rewards. Mai's got priority and good pressure but not as good as any grappler's. I'd said both are mid.

Well, Heavy D!'s got a great anti-air that comes fast, has extreme priority and has a deceiving range: crouch C. Also, his qcb+p invencibility allows for mind games and extends his gameplay. His grab is not that great. Chang's got the greatest grab (D) in the game. Massive damage up to DM damage.

Yeah, Heavy D!'s only problem is his combos. close C, fwd + A into whatever sometimes misses crouching opponents and his close C tends to push the oponent too far. The option is using his crouch B and A into fwd+A but that requires skill and timing.

Practice is the key.

Not to mention Heavy D's excellent cross up jC, which of course allows for a tap fest into fwdA to dm.

O. Yashiro was in the upper tiers back in 98. Long-ranged pokes, a throw that's semi-invincible (hcf+P) and a painful BnB combo. And of course, back in 98 he had that annoying hcf+P > qcf, qcf+P unblockable on wakeup setup, which while useless on the pros, is funny as heck when you pull it on the rookies.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's BnB?

And this might explain why I've had some success with my all-grapple team (Clark, O. Yashiro, Vice) despite how inexperienced I am at online/VS play.

Short for "bread and butter." Usually used to refer to staple combos.
