How long can you go without playing *any* games?

So anyway, finals are upon me, and zOMG the work.
In an effort to somehow force myself to do work, I've put a blanket ban on me playing games of *any* kind, and it's been in effect for the past 5 days.
Putting aside the question of whether I'm actually getting any more work done ("Hey, I haven't visited that site for a while... *2 hours later* "Crap"), has anyone else tried something like this for the sake of work/relationship/lack of a computer, etc? And for how long did you manage to keep it up?
*hopes this doesn't become like Shikyoh's "How long can you go on without wanking I DID IT FOR 6 MONTHS BECAUSE OF MARIMITE RRRRAGH!" thread*

I actually abstained from ON for my 'A' level exams
As far as playing games goes...well, does it count that I haven't logged onto PSO for a month or so thanks to schoolwork? >_>

I went a whole school year without touching games, but that was cos I sold everything and couldn't possibly play them. If they were just sitting there, then I could probably only hold out for a few days.

Not really, since you've played KOF XI recently.
When I mean *all* games, I mean including crappy ones like Minesweeper. Card games like Hearts. Puzzles like crossword puzzles. Chess. And of course, yeah, the many online flash games that are out there.
All that, plus your generic console/PC games.

Temptation is a bitch.. with things to play around in the house.. but the longest time with no games for me was When my father got some crazy streak, i think i wasn't able to play anything for a week.

I find that if I have to force myself not to play games in order to get anything done, it doesn't work. All it does is leave a void in my brain that I try to fill with something else, which in the end usually isn't enough to satisfy anyway.
If I can do it naturally though, just forget about them or become genuinely disinterested, I can go for a long time without them. I think the longest I went was about 2 months. I did use the computer though (lucky for me I don't like PC games).

can't say i've 'forced' myself to stop playing games. When there is work to be done, it do that instead. Although, i do admit i seem to make more time for game than i should instead of making time for other productive things.
Been almost two years now without my dreamcast which i used to play daily. Missed it bad, still do but the thought of eventually haveing the time somewhere in the future helps set things at ease so i don't worry over it. Putting that kind of thought to games you're 'forceing' yourself to stay away from may help in sucess of that.

I'd have to say at least a year. I had school to worry about and then I started a new job as well and just got busy.
Now I broke because I got We <3 katamari.
