I think you're feeling sad more than anything else. But if you have some underlying feelings of "blue" then this loss might trigger it. I can't really relate to how you feel because I don't really follow sports that passionately but if you're feeling down you can always go and exercise which releases endorphins (making you feel happier). A healthy body promotes a healthy mind.

Mind you this is regular exercise and sometimes you might lack motivation to do it. I'd recommend getting a friend to join you at the start so they can help push you (and vice versa).

Another thing you can do (without exercising physically) is cognitive thinking ... they say how you think is how you feel. So instead of dwelling on this loss you can look into more positive thinking (eg "they will win next time") ... smile even though you don't think it warrants it at that time. Music can often lift my mood as well, especially if I'm singing along to the song too haha.

Or go fall in love which releases dopamine (similar results as to endorphins)

Or go fap ...

Hope this helps in some ways :D

Engage in a hobby, or a tedious but satisfying activity of some sort. Keep busy, like heb said exercise releases good endorphins that help. Get outside, talk with people. Invite friends over, have a little shindig. Simple stuff, but it always helps me out.

Pretty much everything Arasoi said.

If your an art type or a writer, even just doing your craft while depressed really gets some of the best work out there because you feed your work with all the emotions that you're feeling.

Actually, I forgot to mention my other form of coping, exercise. It's pretty good, a 20 minute run will really help, mentally and physically.

If all else fails, I also engage in retail therapy, nothing like new clothes or a movie to watch or something rather.

I can tell you from first hand experience that shopping and alcohol are a deadly combination, for your wallet.

Hey, I know how it feels when Real Madrid loses to its hated rival. But if you're getting depressed about one loss, what about me? I would've jumped off a building 20-30 times already.

Let's just say that I support an NBA team that has:
- One of the worst owners in sports with a history of not paying their coaches after firing them, has lawsuits of racial discrimination and is probably immortal
- Is synonymous with the word "career-threatening injuries" and "losing"
- In the NBA 2k10 vidya game, the commentator Kevin Harlan said about this team: "When you think of this team, you think of...players getting injured"
- Is currently the worst team in this season with a U-23 starting lineup
- Holds the record for the oldest team to not appear in an NBA finals
- Only went to the playoffs 4 times in 26 seasons (and counting) in the current city
- Only went to the second round once in said 26 seasons (and counting)
- Only 3 winning seasons out of said 26 seasons (and counting), and I'm being generous in counting the one where we went 41-41
- Fans cope with "well, there's always next season" when the season starts (yes, when the season starts)
- Spurned by LeBron when he decided to take his talents to South Beach (a phrase I'll use when I make any career moves)
- Dumped by a player who vowed to re-sign with the team when we brought in another star, which we did, and then he gave us the finger and signed for another team, now said other star is looking good in business casual

And you thought you had it bad.

In this case is the order that's actually the important: You have to drink and celebrate what you bought, instead of going out of your way and having an extra strong hangover going for the extra things you got.

We can always rely on our friends

Oh, and feeling down? Just sell your soul to evil; nothing can pump up the moral like a good long evil laugh (specially if it's in a crowded place), it's also always good to reminisce the people that you shoved off and stomped to just make it so far, har har.
