Where to buy action figures

Post by Fuu » Wed Nov 04, 2009 17:46

That's it! Advice me about good online shops, gimme some pointers about anything peculiar one might need to look out for, general talk i guess is sorta good too. Prices in my country are preposterous and with the € raping and pillaging other currencies left and right i feel it's a good time to waste money on useless things on the internet.
Oh and i already know about playasia and hobbylink, infact i just ordered a little something from the latter just to see how much my custom can fuck me up.

In the case that tomorrow i might feel more or less uncomfortable about wanting toys, everyone is to pretend this story is true:
So uh, basically my niece is going to be the next Dalai Lama. He is very much thrilled about this new experience, but he also told me that before starting any serious training, he'd like to have some mecha action figures from old shows i lent him.

http://www.hlj.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Though I'm pretty sure I read that shipping to Italy is made of pure failure.

I also live by the HLJ

http://www.hlj.com/hlj_shipping.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you are afraid you might want to just try a relatively cheap item and see how long it might take to arrive and the condition it is in. I get stuff from HLJ on a monthly basis and through the SAL shipping method I'd see the box between 3 to 4 weeks. It helps because they're selling at Japanese retail price (-5% gst) so there's no mark up like some of the online stores (who probably orders from HLJ anyways hahaha)

Another place you can try is http://www.1999.co.jp/eng" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I think they only ship via EMS ... it will arrive earlier and it's insured just it will cost you a bit more.

IMO Fuu you should probably just save your money I'm in too deep now it's too late for my save yourself while you still can!

I think the old problems are gone. So Italy is fine. But you can always email them.

Thanks heb, i ordered a couple cheap figures from hl just to try out yeah. Don't worry i won't spend much, that kind of stuff can be priced 4 times as much here so as long as i can receive it alright it'll be good.

I'm curious now, do you remember any detail? I have been checking a few stores on ebay and one of them had written

RULES:
1- WE DON'T SHIP TO ITALY
ETC

pretty lol wtf, but sadly not that surprising.

Any other shops worth checking guys? Can't find what i'm specifically looking for :(

Just something like customs or something is a bitch. I bet the Vatican is personally molesting all your packages. Other than that, I can't say I remember anything. :| I don't really have any other sites that can help you.

And heb, you can stop, I stopped!

Fuu what are you looking for? Resins and garage kits aren't really all that popular anymore at HLJ and 1999 there was this other place but they seemed to be in America so not sure if you want to go that.

Shiny: Masterpiece Megatron from Amazon America will come with a cap for the gun FYI

Is it still possible to find those OLD TMNT figures? The ones with various pics of the character on the cardboard.

Err old TMNT figures still in box will probably set you back ... but you can always look for the ones out of the box for 10c hahaha

Fuu: Revoltech has stopped a lot of the robot lines I think ... I got all the Gurren Lagaan and I'm currently getting the HnK Revolution line but yeah some of the early ones won't be on HLJ ... ebay will be a better bet.

Hmmm which ones were you after I got a few still in box I'm willing to offload to someone that will appreciate it more than me.

btw the following has been opened already:
- Giant Robo
- Giant Robo 2
- Megatron
- Starscream
- Dangaioh
- Rodimus Prime
- Optimus Prime

Ah crap..the Masterpiece Megatron is brittle and easy to break. Das Sadnes. I want something a little more sturdy. Wouldn't mind a Starscream and Soundwave too..considering Soundwave is superior and all.
