Thanks for the sympathy guys - although honestly I can't say that I'm completely blame-free in the situation.

For now I'm going to let bygones be bygones and seek out new opportunities. At the very least my manager gave me the heads up in advance so I can leave on my own terms.

Wha? Leave on your own terms? Isn't it actually difficult to fire somebody without an adequate reason? This is America, the land of the lawsuit!

I'd say you're being coaxed into leaving so they don't have to face this. Sure, you'd get an ok reference, but in these times, getting a job will be difficult, and you have rent to pay.

Either you will cow tow and maybe things will turn out of ok, or fight them, keep your job, face a stony relationship with your manager but as long as you do your job there's nothing he can do - anything you suspect that is wrong will be dealt with by a nice lawyer. If they give you a bad reference or pass you up for promotion, that's another lawsuit.

The compromise would be to agree to leave as soon as you find another job. Both parties are then happy.

I'm at home with the swine flu, but my Transformers G1 Complete Series set just arrived. Now I can feel like shit and nostalgiatize!

SS: The wording you used originally made it seem like you were being laid off. I'm assuming now that it's closer to it's more well known and less alluring cousin? Still, it's regrettable that sometimes a small mistake can lead to something like this, can you at least expect a good reference?

uh. Did you get a vaccine by any chance before contracting the flu Shiny? Sounds pretty bad =[

Got a murderous toothache this week just when i invested my money somewhere i can't get it back from in at least 6 months. Now i am attempting to heal it up myself untill i can pay for getting whatever it is checked/fixed. Rinsing with brine seems to help sometimes, seems to make it worse sometimes too

Spent the whole weekend at friends for his wedding as best man and now packing for a week in China to attend cousin's wedding. Chinese weddings are quiet tiring!

Thanks guys, right now most of the pain is gone but i will have to get this wisdom tooth removed soon and don't have the money right now. Work hasn't paid me in six weeks for some reason and some investments took the rest.
In other news, so so 2010, someone suggested/proposed marriage to me. Kinda weird but flattering. I don't want to atm though. It is the same person who treated me like filth a few years back. Go figure.

Today is my birthday, so last night I pulled a Gunsmith and got blackout drunk. I was at my brother's house and the next thing I know I am in my bed, I don't know where my pants are, my boxers are on backwards, and I have a black eye. Any advice on what to do when your stomach feels like it is filled with demons?
