CHINA vs Tibet

Ok, so heat is off USA as China has suddenly catapulted into the globally h8ted #1 position.
Why?
1. Tibet (I'll go into this later)
and
2. Carbon emmissions
obviously since everything is made in China this makes sense. What difference does it make if we all boycotted China and made our own stuff? It just spreads out the Carbon equally...
The funny thing is that governments are unwilling to poke China because they make everything and save everyone $$$
However, should we let the matter of Tibet just slide?
Governments (and a whole load of us, let's face it) look the other way while atrocities go on, again same reasons as above. And there's no oil in China...
Should we do something?
One idea is to boycott - don't buy stuff made in China. Ummm, impossible? But do you realise what would happen to China if the world stopped buying from them? How powerful would China be without any income from exports?
What do you guys think about all of this? Should we support Tibet or what? Fancy boycotting the Olympics?

picture President Bush taking over the world
not so bad really is it... compared to...
Saddam Hussein taking over the world.
Hu Jintao taking over the world.
Bear in mind human rights and communist website blacklisting...
Still don't want to intervene before it's too late?
China cares about its international image and cares about its exports. You'd be surprised at what a petition can do...

Most European nations never had to modernize both societally and economically at the same time. The circumstances are different now, and China is trying to be imperialist, capitalist, modernist, among other things.
The rest of the world is just too impatient to let China develop at its own rate, which regrettably involves a lot of abuse to itself and its surroundings.

Just sign the fricking petition, it's only asking China to be peaceful. 4 days to go before it's handed in! 1 million have signed!

If "the world" decides to intervene anywhere, there's many places and situations that warrant intervention more than Tibet right now. Nobody is going to step in against China over this.

it's a topical subject, the masses are aware, so things can happen until the spotlight lands elsewhere
We made the million mark! Dunno if it will make any difference but I'm satisfied I'm not sitting on my butt doing nothing
btw I like cherries in brandy in chocolate xx

The more I see China and Russia in the news the more I feel WW2 shouldn't have ended without the Allies aborting the Cold War in it's fetal stage by continuing their European Tour from Berlin to Moscow and what ever was China's capital at the time. It's 2008 and the fucking commies haven't quite figured out yet that imperalism isn't nice and a history of annexing smaller neighbours isn't something to be proud of.
On the other hand I regret not watching Pen&Teller's Bullshit episode trashing Dalai Lama. Something about Tibet becoming a theocracy if he could have his way or something.
But yeah, no nation or UN is going to do jack shit about China. If they pull a full-out Tianamen Square II then maybe someone will boycott the Olympics.

A majority of people are closet imperialists because they want to masturbate over pretty uniforms and nobility titles. Anyone claiming otherwise is a fucking hypocrite.

As someone who's been in the army, hated every fucking minute of it, and doesn't associate himself much with the country of his birth (or any other), I have to disagree.
Moving back on topic:
To be honest, as a person of Chinese ethnicity, I really hate the Chinese government. Corruption is rife, party philosophy of "WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF TAIWAN HAS BEEN DE FACTO INDEPENDENT FOR YEARS, WE'RE GOING TO CLAIM IT'S OURS AND ABUSE OUR RISING ECONOMIC POSITION TO STRANGLE ANY FORMAL DIPLOMATIC TIES TAIWAN HAS WITH OTHER NATIONS", and "HEY, THERE'S A BUNCH OF MONKS WITH NO REAL ARMY? LET'S GO STOMP ALL OVER THEIR DICKS AND TAKE THEM OVER!" really ticks me off, and the fact that they brazenly throw critics in prison or worse is surely a sign that instead of a government ready to step into a civilized age , it's just a collection of power hungry megalomaniacs willing to come down crushingly hard on any perceived opposition to their total dominance.
