Today I bought my 2 issues of Rival Schools #1. Probably a lot of you already saw the previews from SFII #0, 1 and 2 and already have the idea on how this comicbook will be.

Well, here are my first impressions:

-Alvin Lee cover (B) is great.
-Rey cover (A) is good. Yeah, I said it, it's good, not as good as Lee's.
-All the pages are B/W (no color pages, like in the previews). But it has more pages.
-I'm not gonna ride the "lol rey art suckz" bandwagon. His art may look a bit weird in some parts, but overall I think he made a pretty decent job.
-Dialogues need some extra work. Seeing the chars saying stuff like "ZOMG HE'LL USE A BURNING VOGOR ATTACK" or "ZOMG I WANNA SAVE EVERYONE AND BLA BLA BLA HEROIC SPEECH" ...it sounds sort of funny.
-The battle parts are excellent. Rey didn't lie when he promised good fight scenes.
-So far, I've seen Batsu, Hinata, Kyosuke (:3), Ran (cameo), Edge, Daigo (cameo), Hyo, Hayato and Akira.

Dude, read the comic first before you jump to early conclusions. Seriously, Rey's art is NOT bad.

By looking at that, I can already tell it's crap. Extreme crap.

I scanned the comic on a rather trusty shop here. It isn't visually Rival Schools at first glance , and since i just scanned it (due to shop rules) i can't judge it as a whole yet.

(I saw something about Sakura on the very last page, something about a comic of her own or something?.)

That's "Street Fighter Legends: Sakura", a special comic that will be released in august.

I'm surprised the Alvin Lee fanboys haven't shown their face here yet

Just read through the comic and GOOD GOD does it suck.

Rival Schools #2 now available

-As usual, Alvin Lee's cover is great.
-Rey's cover is very good. But it has some random dudes being beaten by Batsu, Hinata and Kyosuke, .
-B/W.
-To all the people that complained about the art: it improved, GREATLY. It still shouts "LOL REY", but it looks better.
-It's all about Gedo fighting against Gorin and Taiyo.
-They spoiled a lot of things pretty fast (Akira's true sex, i.e.).
-Fighting scenes are better than in the 1st issue.
-lol no plot.
-It has a "Street Fighter Legends: Sakura" preview.

Why is Burning Batsu on the cover? He doesn't even come out.

And they have Convention reports, too!! With crappy cosplayer pictures!!!


I saw Rey at a comic convention a while back. His booth was EMPTY. No one went to see him! NO ONE!! And he was mentioned on the flier in big bold letters, too! I felt like laughing at him!!

Poor Rey I would ask him to sign my RS comics if I could.

And well... haven't heard anything about RS#3 being released soon. Last month's previews menctioned #4 already. Scans of the covers coming soon

So when's the 3rd comic coming out? I need something new to LOL at.

All Udon titles have been delayed for some stupid reason. The only stuff they've been releasing lately is Street Fighter Legends Sakura (#3 of this will be released next week).

No new SFII, no new Onimusha and no new Rival Schools for now
