Wee, breakdown time.

BTOOOM - Trash. If you liked Battle Royale it's a similar scenario, but I just can't bring myself to like a single one of the characters. The backstories are laughably dumb.
Zetsuen no Tempest - Kind of uninteresting for a while as they built up the plot and motivations, but the latest few episodes have been unexpectedly brilliant.
Jormungand - If you like Black Lagoon you should probably try this, since there is similar characterization and action sensibility. And the preview song is annoyingly catchy.
Sword Art Online - Pretty good quality, though the story borders on generic eroge schlock. If you haven't already, expect to hear about this one a lot.

Also watched the first Berserk movie. Not really a fan of the CG animation. I can see what they were going for, but it looked way too robotic.

Catching up on some anime shows I passed up on or never heard of... let's see there's Eyeshield 21 and Macross Frontier.

Btw, how's everyone doing? :)

Yeah, CG was really well done overall, but it's just boring to watch. I'd happily play a videogame like this, watching it is just uhhh

After being out of the loop for some time it feels lke a miracle to see 2 interesting shows going on at the same time. Survive the first 3 episodes of Shinsekai Yori and you're in for something unique, if vaguely Higurashi-ish.

Also, uh... it makes sense that Shaft ended doing unashamed erotic anime, and they're really good and generally tasteful about it, but damn if I need to look at a naked little girl bathing for half an episode. let's keep it 18... 16... ok 14 and up, please?(Nisemonogatari)

edit: nvm, Nisemonogatari sucked. new characters are all lame. But watch till naked Kanbaru, episode 3?

Ghost in the Shell Arise, a new OVA on the horizon. Being done by the director who worked on the Blade the Last Vampire series.

i've only been watching jojo's 2012 lately, but recently picked up copies of yoroiden st/ronin warriors, and sketchbook full colorS (because of kate)

there's just so much moeshit and fanservice garbage that i'm really tired of seeing shoved in my face

i just feel like writing an essay about how disgustingly shit most anime coming out today is. i mean come on, an anime that seems to be centric around some woman with pendulum tits that have more swing than mai shiranui's, two girls who asymmetrically dock to become one girl with butt shots up the wazoo, cute moe girls driving tanks,

just,

god,

damn,

it.

Bakemonogatari is cool, Nisemonogatari was disappointing. And sheesh, excuses for naked young girls, oh yeah it's ok, she's actually a 300 year old vampyre. Whatever.

Btoom sucked, dropped it

I'm really enjoying Tonari no Kaibutsu Kun but I'd only watch it with the girlfriend.

Jojo ftw

Hadoolket, welcome to being jaded with anime. It's 90% crap hentai or for kids, perpetuating the same ideals over and over again. It's kinda why this thread was started in the first place. Still searching for those gems...

Watching Shinsekai Yori, not quite sure if it will stick, but it's interesting.

Gun, you have to take into consideration that anime now has to compete with internet porn, so they've got their work cut out for them.

Haven't seen any anime since 2009. Not sure if there's anything that'll pull me back in as far as a series goes.

Sword of the Stranger is pretty great, I recommend it hearthily.

Also, there's people with the headcanon that the main character is an ancestor of Kenshin from Rurouni Kensin. I can live with that.
