I realllly think the current Jesus photoshopping fad has gone past the "joke" phase and has descended into outright blasphemy
well that one might not be so bad really
but I noticed one the other day with Jesus depicted with breasts. And this was to advertise clothes???
The question is, Christianity has really no control over things like this, as legally there's not much they can do, so what's going to happen next? Will all belief just totally crumble? Will Christianity dupk FAIL? or will it just be a fad until they find the next god - is buddha next for photoshopping with bridget?

Nah, it's a fad. People have always made fun of Religions. Christitans/Catholics just make the funniest reactions because of some of the ultra sensitive followeers. Most of us know to laugh it off. All paintings of Jesus are false anyway.

Hardly. People have been blaspheming, and making light of religion for ages.
Sometimes its more common, sometimes its not, and more often than not, its simply a reflection of the current cultural atmosphere. Either way, they hardly reflect the deeper set of beliefs and conditions (social anomie, the need for metaphysical explanations, the need for a moral space to navigate in) that are generally associated with genuine faith.
Hell, the fact that there are Christians *not* offended by the latest McMahon skits says a lot, about how much liberal Americans (not redneck Bible belt), have come to accept blasphemy in pop culture without it becoming a question of the faith's validity.
Btw, is that pic from the Church of the FSM? Pasta or tentacles, who's to say?
Edit: For Great Readability

Shazam. "White Jesus" is one of the longest running lies ever. I do believe there was a Discovery Channel documentary made re:what He really looked like. Judging from the remains (they did reconstruction to a skull like what they do to crime victims) and indeed the ethnicity of the people in the area, He should be depicted as Middle Eastern/Palestinian. Same goes for the apostles.
Edit- Although I have this King James bible whose paintings do depict Him as more of such. Or at least, not really "white".

Agreed.
I read a while back that the 'model' for his depiction was Cesar Bogaria, or something to that effect...I can't find the actual name anymore. -_-

Jesus was a jew in the first place. He could have been uncoated!

Watching South Park exposes you to lots of religion hate and mockery. Thankfully i'm not that of an extreme person to go revolt due to it.

i wish i'd saved that "Worship Jesus! Or he'll torture you in Hell!" pic
also what was that movie again where they believed the greatest enemy of faith is laughter? that like when people start laughing they quit fearing God and thus became less religious?

well, i for one don't see the humour in that photoshop, nor do i see it as being blasphemous. I suppose one could argue that jesus wasn't a ghost but the saviour of humankind etc. but i'm not a bible basher, so i'll leave it at that
