Upon closer investigation, it seems that Takara used basically the same Game Boy fighting game engine for everything. It started with Samurai Shodown, then Fatal Fury 2, World Heroes 2 Jet, Battle Arena Toshinden, KoF 95, SamSho 3, KoF 96, Real Bout Special, then finally a Beast Wars game of all things. They got 5 years worth of games in a bunch of different franchises out of this one engine. The weirdest part is that the actual development for most of them was farmed out to separate studios.

seeing as how limited the gameboy was, they couldn't do much more with it...

On a less depressing note, I've just scored myself a TE stick, so for those of you on XBL, I'll be able to play with you very soon!
I've got Super IV, Tekken 6, BlazBlue CS and 2k2 UM.

Right now, chilling out.. looking up prices on smaller led/lcd tv's for gaming wise.
Saved up for one, so here's to hoping! But then my 360 rrod'd for the last time, so I'm also saving up for a later model.
On the not-so cool side of things, my writing 101 class was cancelled. Waiting till mid-July to start my Psy 101 class. ==, waiting bites

Upside: more time for the UC3 MP demo...

._. @ AW.
Nothing much here. Having family visit me in about 2 weeks for the first time since I've moved down here. That'll be interesting..but if they're going to the theme parks, they can keep that jive to themselves. Base temp was 98 today.

Yep - she did the separating. Rather upset about the whole thing truth be told. I don't know what a laundry list is.Foxhole wrote:She axed you? Not the other way around? At least you didn't get a laundry list did you? ><

As in list of things she thought was wrong with you.
And yes, I'd imagine things suck right now.
Really sorry to hear that.
On another crappy note, though not as bad as yours, my home team lost in the Stanley Cup finals. Even though I'm not a hardcore fan, it's a little sad to see the whole city so dejected at once.
Edit: Found out the worse riot in Vancouver history happened right outside my door, albiet 10 floors down. There was a lot of looting, time to go find some stuff on craigslist.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
Thanks, guys - I appreciate the support
As for the laundry list, no I didn't get that. As it turns out her problem wasn't actually with me. She's originally from NYC and only came to Western NY to participate in a local university's PhD program. I already knew she hated it here but things at the school have gotten way out of hand - they weren't able to provide the tuition funding they originally promised, they expect her to work 40 hours a week for the program for FREE and teach a class on top of her own classes (which run 7 to 10 PM three days a week), the advisors offer zero support, and the professors that she came here to study under were all let go. Said school problems will prevent her for seeing her son - add to that the fact that she can't afford to have someone care for him while she's tied up at school. And finally there's issues with adequate schooling for children in WNY as it is. As a result she's pretty much decided to go back to NYC and finish her Phd at a less retarded university. Apparently our relationship was the only plus for her here - but being a practical person (a trait I sadly share) she can't condone staying. I talked to her after the fact - she's feeling the same way I am but doesn't see any viable options to survive here. Knowing she cares and that it's not me makes things a bit easier but it still boils down to losing her.
Being an adult sucks

God, at least you didn't lose her for being useless or inadequate. But who am I to offer the perspective of a youngin? I'm barely younger than you nowadays.
At least it doesn't rule out getting back together in the future, the one mildly silverish lining to what's been otherwise a shitty ordeal.
Also you didn't deal with your failure by buying 10 grand worth of watches. *points at self*
Cheers Wind, to your future endevours.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
Tried to watch a movie and ended up being seriously pissed at Netflix. The new website design is garbage. I can't even get it to work on 360 anymore because after updating it wants me to "activate" it when the new website has apparently borked the activation page. They've completely ruined themselves in record time for no good reason. So fucking badly, in fact, I can't even access my profile to cancel my membership.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
It's almost 4am now and I can't sleep since I'm inside a freaking huge (S?) Tempest (take that as you will) that has been going for 2 days straight.
One of my rooms is flooded, I had a power shortage yesterday, the chairs from the backyard "flew away" due to the strong winds (had to go outside to retrieve them) and a piece of the ceiling sounds like is being shewing off by a gremlin or something.
There is no better circumstance to watch horror movies.
I'm totally gonna skip work tomorrow.
edit : 8 seconds length lightings. First time seeing something like that.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
Bittersweet ending. Better than the bad end where you find your car keyed, credit cards ganked, and sugar in your gas tank (not speaking from personal experience or anything...) , but it all hurts the same. Us humans and our emotions.
Nothing truly new on my end of things. I did see an armadillo during a walk, and spotted what I thought was a poisonous snake in the breezeway of the house I live in, but it turned out to be a corn snake (http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/herpetology/fl ... ttatus.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Although they are common and considered harmless, it didn't stop me from doing my best 2D Sonic the Hedgehog impression in the opposite direction. There was a guy that got bit by a pretty venomous snake about half a year ago less than a mile from where I live (and on hotel grounds no less), and since I don't speak parseltounge, I ain't taking any chances. But I do stay by the Everglades headwaters, so this type of stuff is to be expected.
Since that is the most I can complain about, I think I'm doing ok.
