Re: NES RGB LED mod
Did you just loaded the game at the first try?Arasoi wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i0TVPsL2iw

Which reminds me.

For what I remember these were made by a japanese pastry worker; he made some for fun for himself, but later opened 15 for people to reserve and buy (I think that it was for Valentine). He said that they were just too damn hard to do, so he couldn't mass produce them for everyone to enjoy.
Thinking back, it can't be a japanese guy; the design for the controller and cartridge don't match with the famicom ones. Don't make me get started on the mic.

My NES is pretty heavily modded, a new 72 pin connector included, and disabled lockout chip making cart functionality easy. I'll be getting a cardedge connector created from a game genie for it soon which will improve it further. Full features list as follows:
(1) PPU desoldered, socket installed, Playchoice/VS Duck Hunt/VS Tennis PPU installed for RGB output, RGB amp and sync cleaner installed
(2) RGB/Component video/S-video/composite video output
RGB output uses Megadrive/Genesis wiring/connector standard, any cheap MD SCART RGB cable works for it.
(3) Audio mod for Powerpak flash cart and Famicom games, all games with extra audio work fine like Akumajo Densetsu, and Famicom Disk System.
(4) 68pf cap mod to make all games work flawlessly
(5) memory chip mod for Powerpak flash cart compatibility (RGB NES requires this)
(6) New 72 pin connector
(7) Lockout chip disabled
(8) RGB color shifting LED
(9) Powerpak flash cart enables playing of Famicom Disk system games with 0 load times, no noisy disk drive, no disk flipping. Also lets one play Beta/Unreleased/Translated roms on real hardware.
Pretty soon I'll do the "stereo" mod and see how that sounds.
On the DVD player.. seems kinda wrong to gut a NES for something like that, if I saw it at someone's house I'd ask if I could play, and be told it was a DVD player, I would be 'dissapoint. Lol. I love the pastries.
