I have a week off in two weeks and I have nothing to do.
I think I'm going to say "fuck it" and take my sorry ass, and SLR camera and a train ticket down to Montreal.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
I have been on a boredom and fatdom inspired little routine the last two months or so consisting of pull ups, push ups, squats and dips, sometimes added other little things. Realise it's totally unbalanced but it was more out of boredom anyway. Tried this method called tabata, basically alternating going full steam for 20 sec then resting for 10. Repeat up to eight times (not able to do eight as of yet). Been watching what i'm eating a little as well. Cut soft drinks out, i am a huge cola drinker, i'd drink 1.5 liter/50 ounce by myself per day regularly. Just drink tea now like a proper gentleman of the Near Orient, i add a little honey and mint for taste.
As i started noticing some progress it inspired me to try some sports again to test myself. I went to my old kickboxing gym for the first time in a very long time yesterday. I have actually been wanting to do mma for a while now but i don't know of an mma gym near me so i went to my old stomping grounds instead.
Pro: Found that i am stronger than about a month ago, mostly from the pullups strenghtening the dorsal muscles i think. The stamina of the muscle groups trained with the tabata method held out longer than i expected them to, except the legs but i have been slacking with the squats.
Cons: i have the agility of a hippo and the stamina of an *enter animal with very little stamina* right now. This is also the result of not getting enough general exercise. A little bit of this and that just makes you a couch potato with a few decently trained muscles. Def could lose about ten pounds of fat although not worried about it.
I knew what to do but my body could only half do it, annoying. It felt good to be back in the ring though.
Conlusion:
This is what happens when you live a sedentary lifestyle and your diet is mediocre. As a kid i didn't need cardio or exercise because just playing sports all the time was enough. Fork lifting and marathon sleeping are the only sports i play these days.
-There's no escaping it, need to build stamina. I am, always have been, too lazy to do cardio, i take long walks but that's it. I know myself and i'd prolly not go jogging daily. A treadmill would be a good solution, need to make space for it though, maybe a bike but that's less motivating, peddling like an idiot.
-Need to build up the couch potato muscles, aka lower back, abdomen and legs. Upper body was strong enough. Upper and middle back were plenty strong, probably more than ever.
Never been a gym member and i probably won't join one but maybe getting good pro advice on a routine could help. Internetz has too many conflicting opinions, don't know what to believe.

If you want to build muscle, do heavy weights, you don't need to do many reps, just lift as heavy as possible without injuring yourself.
If you want stamina then its as many reps of any exercise as possible.
If you want to lose fat and get toned all over and gain stamina, RUN.
I don't like running with all the pollution and threat of injury so I swim. Only downside is threat of athletes foot and boredom as I don't have a waterproof mp3 player. Also, swimming too much will give you a swimmers body, er... Google it.
Grill all your food and just cut out the fatty foods!
I'm now officially underweight. Although I recently put on a few kilos from eating sweets at night in front of the ps3. Your dinner meal should be your lightest and do not eat again till you wake up.
Not sure if It's diet, age or stress related, but my libido has dipped significantly. Which is good news for the tissue paper budget.

I usually do interval training, I"ll walk at 3 mph, then jog at 5 mph at 1% incline, 2 mins between each speed. I used to do more, but I have a gimp heart now. Been working on my abs for almost two years now, still barely have any definition, I've been told to take protein powder. I kinda expected more from being a fat kid. Now everyone says I'm under weight, but I still have barely noticeable pudge when I wear my Sevens, and it irritates me to no end.

In Milwaukee on business, then onto Minneapolis Monday. Tomorrow I may be able to see some of Chicago, seeing how it is a little less than 2 hours from here. Expect an eye opening expose on midwestern people when I get settled after my trip.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
Just had my first day teaching classes again after having a solid month-long vacation, during which I went back home to Hawaii. While I miss being able to sleep in until noon on weekdays and stare out of my family's backyard into a tropical paradise, I can safely say I don't hate kids like I did a month ago.
I still dislike them, but only when they won't LISTEN. *clenches and unclenches fingers reflexively*
Also: having gotten all hyped up from watching EVO and SVB this year, I am trying to find out when SBO takes place, and whether it will be on der internethausen so I can rage because no one playing Gouken gets past round 2 while Ryu and Akuma spam hadoukens to victory.

Oww snap. Good advice guys.
Gun: How'd you get underweight? Did you try for it? Eat food!
Oro you must have brock lesnar size abs by now, two years of work. It's the other way around for me, i was a skinny and thin kid turned into a pudgy muscular man. Blame genetics. You also, eat food!

No, I don't have huge abs, in fact, I can barely see definition unless there's minimal light (shadows). The bottom line is that building abs without building the rest of your body is tough, and even though I work the rest of my body out now I can't gain any weight that isn't fat.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
Afaik, any muscle you build will stay, not turning into fat, as some have said.
The eternal problem is getting those abs to show through the fat that lies on top.
I'm underweight because my gf didn't like that belly. Cut the beer, and any foods that will cause bloating. I've got an ok figure now but I feel weak, sometimes faint.
Fashion is unhealthy.
Back to teaching next week, hooray... Ummm

And you forget that SBO is running sf4 vanilla not super hahaom3g4prism wrote: Also: having gotten all hyped up from watching EVO and SVB this year, I am trying to find out when SBO takes place, and whether it will be on der internethausen so I can rage because no one playing Gouken gets past round 2 while Ryu and Akuma spam hadoukens to victory.

Re: Orochinagi wants to know what you're up to!
So what, are Gouken and Gouki banned because they were hidden charas or something in vanilla? That seems fantastically
considering they both fit firmly in the middle of the SFIV pecking order.
And on the abs wagon: I too wish I could get some defined abs. I spent a solid 3 years ruining my hot bod working for pizza hut. Now, after busting my bum for six months I have all kinds of muscle but my buddha belly is literally the last region of fat on my body to start ebbing away. ARGH. At least I've still got a backyard worthy of 90's music videos...
