Three great matches yesterday, three shit ones today.
Croatia didn't draw but really should have. Man, Brazil sucked. And if Ronaldo gets any fatter he's gonna leave a permanent impression on ten square yards of the pitch he just ambles about all game. I know it's only the first game, but this Brazil team looks very beatable, and you could have predicted that if you'd any idea of how things have been for their players this season.
- Adriano's had a pretty ordinary season at Inter
- Ronaldo now moves like Jabba the Hutt
- Robinho, his supposed replacement, who arrived at Real as The Next Big Thing, hasn't played all that much because of the aforementioned behemoth and Raul (I'll save my venom for him until Spain kick off)
- Their fullbacks, Roberto Carlos and Cafu, are OLD. They've become defensive liabilites at their clubs, and they haven't got the legs to constantly bomb forward like in the past two WCs
- Emerson just completed a season at Juve where Capello played his first teamers almost every game, leading to their utter exhaustion.
- Their replacement strikers are the aforementioned Robinho and a guy called... Fred.
Brazil will almost certainly go through and will go far, just because they've some unbelievable players, but they're nowhere near as shit hot as everyone makes them out to be.
As for my other predictions:
- Togo didn't look awful, but that's only because S. Korea looked pretty crap as well. What a difference four years make. Here's a clue how to get back to WC2002 performances: RUN YOU LAZY BASTARDS
- France-Switzerland was indeed a complete waste of time. Swiss shoulda won. France is all over the place. They don't have a clear idea of how they want to play.

Fred is quite literally the next best prospect out of Brazil after Robinho. First choice starter at Lyon, and he had a pretty good season. Mark my words, from his performances he could be better than Adriano.Gaseous Snake wrote:Three great matches yesterday, three shit ones today.

Btw... it was supposed to be the hottest day of the tournament so far, so Korea should be cut some slack.

Yes but his name's... Fred. Aren't Brazilians meant to pick names that make them sound like superheroes or summink? It reminds me of the time someone pointed out that Ronaldo translated into English comes out as the less-than-exotic 'Ronald'. Actually I think we should do this with the whole Brazilian team, so then we'd have Ronald and Adrian up front, with Ronnie (little Ronaldo) behind them. And Kaka would be Shit-4n'Dant3- wrote: Fred is quite literally the next best prospect out of Brazil after Robinho. First choice starter at Lyon, and he had a pretty good season. I think Fred's name is actually Fred Chuavez or something. Sounds a tad Mexican don't you think? Maybe they should have called him Frederico...
Ribery is good... but he was too nervous last night. At any rate, he's currently better than Rothen and Pires, who both have a chronic lack of pace at their ages... Giuly's omission is still a mystery to everyone though.
