What do you think of the death penalty?

I am against the death penalty. <= Because it have to be the mandatory liberal post.
for crimes such as murder or rape, the guy would be raped or murdered in prison anyway.

I've got a better idea, instead of just killing them which is boring, why not cook them up and serve them to the victim's families as delicious convict burgers?

The death penalty in SG is not loosely applied. Only crimes like drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping, etc warranted the penalty.

Notices are displayed prominently for all incoming traffic in SG. It basically said, "No drugs in SG soil."

Stopover or not, he is on SG territory.

I am not sure what is the point of telling everyone the wages of the executioner. Are you trying to quantify the value of a human life and how SG equates a single life to be worth only a mere SGD$400?

Kinda digressing, but is kidnapping punishable by death? I know drug trafficking and murder are punishable by death, and I somehow have the notion in my head that so is treason, but I can't think of anything else.

I believe this piece of legislation was passed after a spate of kidnap/murders. I'd happened quite a lot, during a particular period in Singapore's history. Funnily enough, it doesn't happen that much anymore.
