Last game I saw was the Arsenal v. Manchester championship match that was replayed on the Fox Soccer Channel here in the US-- and I missed the penalty shoot-out! I was pissed... hell I forgot who won, but from what I saw, it was a good game. Arsenal is one of my new fav British teams. Now if they'd only show premiership games on FSC...

You mean the FA Cup final? Arsenal won 5-4 on penalties in that one. Lots of the Man U players were crying.

Turkey is part of Asia is it not? Many Turkish players are better than Park, IMO. Rustu, Emre, Sukur...

oh... turkey is geographically tricky. it's part asian and part european, but since UEFA considers it to be European, i do too :P

but you're right. turkey do have some great players. especially that kid who plays for fenerbache... i cant remember his name. oh yeah. sanli tuncay.

Guus Hiddink has been appointed coach of the Australian national team.

Hiddink led the Dutch to the World Cup semi-finals in 1998, South Korea to the semi-finals again in 2002. Can he make it a hat-trick and lead the Socceroos to World Cup glory in 2006?

I hope so.

The question is: can he make Australia finally be the fifth South American team? 8)

It's Asia next WC. Can Hiddink help Australia beat Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Laos and Malaysia!?!?!?

But with all due respect, Hiddink is an awesome coach.

I saw part of a game today with the Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Real Madrid (I think it was a replay) on Fox Soccer Channel. I started losing interest when Madrid scored their 2nd goal against LA. For some reason, the game was hard to watch, even though Madrid was playing. I love soccer, but I always find it wierd to watch the MLS play--it's missing something that the Euro leagues have. I don't know what it is. Wierd, huh?

er.... i havent watched MLS, but i'm guessing that the MLS players arent skilled enough to maintain a certain speed in their play. techinally, they would also be quite limited compared to the mighty european teams, so aspects of their game like passing and shooting wouldn't be as accurate. ever see freddy adu try a defence splitting pass successfully? i don't think so!

If anyone follows the French league, after two rounds, Marseille are in LAST place on the table. XDXD

Marseille are former European champions, so it would be funny to see how much they get sledged in the French media.

Also, Celtic suck.
