SvC chaos, insta-kill glitch

Post by Archedgar » Wed Nov 02, 2005 07:39

These forums seem to be mostly abandoned, the population has decreased significantly and the 'well of knowledge' seems to be dry, I wonder what went wrong...

Anyway, a friend of mine and I found a huge glitch in SvC chaos, no, it has nothing to do with any type of infinite combo, rather, we found a glitch that allows a character to get an insta-kill.

This isn't abusable and is likely never going to happen(again) in an actual 'gameplay' situation.

The way this works:

-Player 1
Character: Zero
Position:
[IIIIIIIIIIIIII X IIIIII]

-Player 2
Character: Kasumi Todoh
Position:
[IIIIII X IIIIIIIIIIIIII]

Kasumi requires at least one stock to pull this off...

***
Ok, Zero needs to use his cyber elf D, thus causing him to be static for a few seconds until the animation is near complete, while this is going on, Kasumi needs to jump and land a cross up on Zero, use her guard break move(HCB, F + A) and then her projectile special.

This will cause Zero to take some damage, BUT more importantly, it will kill the "D" cyber elf, causing a 'death scream' in the process, Zero will be at about 140% health(I,e, 1 bar and 2/5) but the match will be over with Kasumi as the victor, therefore producing an instant kill(so to speak).

:kill:

Zero needs to have his back to Kasumi for this to work.

Another interesting fact is that when this happens, Kasumi and Zero can still run around and kill each other while the 'victory screen' is taking place.

Well, there you have it.

I had never read about any instant death glitches like this, but it seems to be something worth checking out, at least for amusement factor, it happened today by accident during a match with my friend.

I find it amusing...

Edit:

I wonder if other people knew about this, it would be amusing to find out that it is a commonly known fact after all...

Nope, I had no idea... But man, it's interesting to know!

How did YOU get to know this yourself? You were using Kasumi or something? Goodness.

Who the hell comes up with these glitches anyways? And do people actually use them?

Now come on, what are the chances someone would properly land this right as Zero's D cyber elf animation just happens to end? I doubt anybody uses this, and Arche said that as well.
Anyways, that's just freaking weird. I'd certaintly love to see that happen in a real match just for the hillarity value.

Okay, well I KNOW it's SvC, and the game is broken and nobdy plays it. But it would be worth it just to see the other guy's reaction.

If you fight nothing but Ken, Gouki, Iori, and Terry like I do, then yes, it is that bad.

I personally think Gouki is pretty fun, him, Kyo and Shiki are my mains in that game. I like to play some Kasumi as well.

It's a shame you don't get more varied competition, the game really does have a nice cast. :)

I know. I used to play as Shiki and Kasumi, too. I also used Demitri, Zero, and Tabassa. (I'm using past tense because I stopped playing)

The game is broken and stupid.

Buktooth's Chunli FAQ at gamefaqs is a pretty good description of what the game is like at high level.

Play NGBC. Or Chess. Both are more fun.

It may be broken, but dammit, it has Mr. Karate, and that's good enough for me.

A game being "broken" has never stopped me from playing it. It's all about how much you enjoy the game, in all honesty I don't think this game is bad. It's a very unique entry into the world of fighting games from SNK and as such I don't think calling it stupid is really fair. Besides, I don't have NGBC. :-|

Let me qualify what I said then. The game is fun and unique until you try to play it competitively.
