KOF XIV Gameplay Information

NG - PS4
- Square - Light Punch
- X - Light Kick
- Triangle - Heavy Punch
- Circle - Heavy Kick

Evasive Roll - /neutral/
Blowback -
Recovery Roll - (before falling)
MAX Activation -
Q MAX - during attack (From KOF '98 UM Extra)
Rush - Tap (near the opponent)
Just Defend - Block during an attack
EX Moves - Special Move Input + or (Max Mode only)
SDM - DM Input + or
Retained Mechanics from KOF XIII
- EX Moves (Max Mode only, depletes the MAX Mode gauge quickly
- NeoMAX (renamed as Climax Desperation Move)
Removed Mechanics from KOF XIII
- Drive Cancels
- HD Mode
Returned Mechanics from other games
- Just Defend (from Garou: MOTW)
- Q MAX (from KOF '98 UM Extra, but works like 2002)
- MAX Mode (KOF '98 version)
- Super Cancel (KOF 2003/XI, only requires 1 stock for DM)
New Mechanic
Rush - Tap near to your opponent, which causes a Persona 4 Arena style Autocombo.
Advanced Cancel - Cancel from DM to SDM (only requires 1 stock for DM + 2 stocks for SDM), not sure if it works in MAX Mode though.
KOF '98 MAX mode is back. HD Mode is gone.
EX Moves are limited to MAX Mode only.
'98 Style SDMs are back in some form.
Update 1:
Just Defend can reduce the depletion of the character's guard gauge.
Blowback now causes wall bounce.
Additional inputs are welcome. Mods can freely edit this post.
