All what's related to the awakened lead character of the LB series goes here.

Like the other LB characters, he still has his repel and his super cancels. Also, one of the pictures in the 'Screenshots' at the official website depict him having a new air-move supposedly.

Story

Post by Kyosuke Kagami » Sun Jul 10, 2005 07:30

Shinnosuke Kagami is beaten, it was Kaede the one that supressed that menace from the past in the present. And he suddenly became Seiryu (Blue dragon of east).

But... the hell's gates are still opened in heaven. The key and the method to seal them are still unknown, and a very bad omen keeps on doing echoes in the world.

And when it seemed that nothing could be done to fix the situation:

"There's a tournament organized by great powers from Occident -the Battle Coliseum-, and it's said that the champion will obtain great powers and knowledge".

"If I win the tournament, maybe I might get the necessary knowledge to close hell's gates".

Kaede raises his arm, holding the Hayatemaru. While he's in that position, his doubts are gone.

"I will close the hell's gates... for Seiryu's sake".

dC,dA, QCB+A appears to work. Or maybe they changed around his normals?

Everything else, including repels and air throws is intact. Repels appear to knock down, but you can apparently D.Assault after them.

Bread and butter combos -

Far D, qcb a, 2nd hit cancel into qcf x2 a dm.

I think dwn b, dwn a into qcb a links as well.

He has a special tag out attack similiar to Kyo and Iori:s with dwn dwn AE, if I remember correctly, but I dont know what the condition to be fulfilled is - I remember reading that it was just to hit with his qcb p move, but I couldnt seem to do it.

Dwn b, dwn a into qcb definitely works.
Standing B into his command throw (hcf B) is a useful combo to set up into qcf x2 +p dm.

From Empyrian:

Kaede and Moriya's special d-assault:

Kaede: SC off a qcb punch on the second hit to Down*2 AE.
Moriya: After connecting a Rdp A/B/C and performing Fwd, HcF CE

Kaede so far has some good advantages and some disadvantages.

Advantage: He runs fairly quick! Looks like his gliding across the screen! His uppercut has good range and takes a reasonable amount of damage. His HCF + D I think is unblockable and can combo into a OCF OCF + A super after.

Disadvantage: His jump and air defense is quite weak. His virtually slow to defend himself. That's all so far for disadvantages from what I can see.

Along with his repel from Last Blade 2 and CD air throw, Kaede is almost a close incarnation from previous games. I don't he has the extra hit from uppercut C anymore, and it feels like his fireball comes out slightly slower.

What's the motion for repel?
And what does qcb+K do? Seems to just be a roll like Goro Daimon's
Sorry, never played Last Blade series (too busy with KOF)

f+BD for High repel, b+BD for Low Repel.

Roll is like Daimons, but i think he can be grabbed out of it, unlike Daimon's which has some grab invulnerability. Its a good set up for his command grab.

So, to reiterate Guest's question, what CAN you do after Repel?

I haven't used repel as much, just because the timing is difficult to get used to. It also leaves you open if the opponent doesn't attack too.

From what I've seen in videos, Kaede can do a D assault after repel.

One combo (Kaede Vs Iori) involving the repel is when Kaede repels Iori's uppercut in the air. When Kaede lands, he does a QCB + C (2 Hits) then cancelled to his dragon pouch super.

A note to all Kaede users.

While down B, down A, qcb A(2hits), SC to qcf*2 A is super duper easy and damaging, please *TRY* to work a bit harder for your damage by doing this instead.

Down B, Down A, qcb A(1 hit), qcf*2 C.

First combo does 40% damage but the second one inflicts around 60%.

Opponent near corner, Hcf kick, qcb C, dp A hits.
