agreed. That is in fact where I decided what team i would play in KOFXI was during a night of playing SvCChaos.

My picks are Shenwoo Gato Kasumi. Hopefully She'll have those lovely autoguard moves for projectile blocking, and a gajiilllion counter moves to ace the opponent with. Though one wonders if an incarnation of her exceed will show itself. Without that annoying Guile to throw out sonic booms every 1.1 seconds she will be quite the team breaker.

The video from the AMS showed Kasumi using her super counter (it was an LDM). It appears as though Kasumi isn't too different, but it's hard to tell from a brief video that really only showed supers (sometimes led into by strings). We'll have to see.

Anybody want to give some info on her qcbP string...? I'm having trouble launching the opponent then doing that throw at the end. I've also seen a good supercancel that i dont know how to do.
Considering how good a character she is, i'm surprised to see very little discussion on her.

Whats the input on the throw that catches you out of the air?

Kasumi kicks ass :salute: I hope she never changes (and she probably never will).

QCB+K is the command for the anti-air grab, I think.

Kind of funny how no-one talks about her when she's supposedly one of the high tiers (or at least one of the solid characters) in the game.

BTW, dream cancelling her LDM off her command grab DM does pretty crap damage.

agreed. saw someone do it the other day, and it did like, less than 20% when the opponent was near death. Just supercancelling into the grab DM is fine

kasumi rocks because she is, in general, quite safe. Couple that with a command grab, b,b qcf A/C and pretty damn good normals and you have a solid (yet not top tier) character.

So how do you launch the opponent? Part of her qcb+P string?

nope, it's a command grab: hcb, f punch ala, Goro/Iori 's grab.

The main combo I remember seeing in the match vids (and which Empyrian reminded me about) is

stand C, f+A, HCB,f+P, jump D (land) QCB+K.

How much damage does the LDM do if you SC it? Hopefully more than than when you DC it :x

one good strat would be to replace the Qcb B of the above combo with another Hcb,f P.

btw, which move do you SC into the LDM?

derrick you cant replace the qcb b with a grab since the qcb b has the "juggle anywhere" property.

I think he means to hit the D, let the opponent land, and do her command grab again on wakeup - another mindgame/mixup/damage reset. Hell, if you tricked your opponent into getting hit by the command grab, the next time you do it, you can use the QCB + K to grab them out of the air if they try to escape your next command grab.

Of course, this is risky, since if you guess wrong and they guess right they can counter you with something punishing.

But yeah, Kasumi's awesome. Her moves aren't all that flashy, but she does good damage and has very solid normals. I'm really glad they brought her back - she's horribly underplayed which gives her the "wtf" factor when she's whipped up outta nowhere.
