After Part 1, here is part 2, and there will be part 3!!! Also check below for news on sales and KOF numbers at NGI REVOLUTION!
GaboOver in Costa Rica, Gabo has been working hard and won the last tournament! The game is good, I love it because there is a more dependency on smart play and safe gameplay and that damage with short combos are increased and the management of normals is highly important … I am very satisfied with SNK’s support as a company with the events, online service etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTd1lyWET-I |
Bubblan AB7The Swedish classic has been labbing KOF14, with GGXrd EU qualifier entrant PBX, who recently re- discovered the Clark air grab glitch. Bubblan also made some hot combo videos! Good morning mate 14 is fun but needs patching to be competitively interesting It’s not as polished as thirteen but the max mode makes it easier to get into for beginners which is nice

Emperor CowOur resident DOA man has been dabbling a little in KOF14 while preparing a Mai guide for DOALR!
I can say it feels, looks and plays great The new characters are all cool .. kinda makes you hungry for more.. i want dlc now lol

KendeepLike Emperor Cow is more known for playing other games but has played enough, having entered Hessen Crash and more.
I really like the game mechanics and the way EX moves are incorporated, but rolls are too strong and the weak characters are too weak.
Basically that D:
I’m generally pleased with the game I just want those two things fixed. Thats why I’m waiting for the patch (and for Arc Revo) until I actually put in more effort into the game

PapaRoachCurrently still using a mix of Capitals and Lower Case in his name making it a pain to write.
The game is good but requires a bit tweaking. Some normals are very safe while some take ages to recover. The game depends on max mode so much that each round contains activating max mode 2 to 3 times for only 1 stock which gets boring after a while.
Max mode was supposed to be fun and hype but every round both players activate it so many time that it takes the thrill away.

Dark ChaotixThe resident combo machine has recently been busting out videos even though the patch may change things. so far im enjoying the game and what it has to offer, but I would like some changes. Fireballs are strong in this game and need to be toned down. Some characters just need more recovery on it. Characters have stupid hit boxes on their normals where other characters suffer bad in this area. This is really evident with jump ins and getting cB, to spamable CD attacks. The input leniency needs to be like 2k2 / 2k2um imo, which is barely any leniency in that game. |
Stophersis currently in Japan. He was more famous for getting drunk and playing KOF13 online. What does the future hold for our young Morrissey fan? yessir, quite happy and optimistic.
KOFXIV is thoughtful. It changes the paradigm between where it was from ‘94 – XIII and presents something that shifts the gameplay into something accessible while not being overtly brain dead. As KOF fans we stand at the precipice of altering our scene into something productive and are the only thing keeping it from sinking into the obscurity of ‘poverty games’ and ‘side tournaments.’ Honestly, its flaws only exist on the pretense of what we’ve known. So… Idk, get gud. Also, Meitenkun is gdlk!!

Colonovis deep down under with the Oz crew and is spending a lot of time checking out match videos to build his matchup knowledge before wrecking hell in tournaments!
With the emphasis on simplicity and a more prevalent max mode KOF XIV is a fresh take on KOF’s roots and what made us all love the franchise in the first place. SNK has successfully created a game that both newcomers and veterans alike will love. Although the tier list currently (pre-patch) isn’t as close as most would like, the game shows much promise at this early stage of its lifespan. Although I do think SNK went a bit overboard with the 19 (!) new characters (which meant some of my favourites were sadly not included), I praise them for trying something new in an era where mainstream fighting games are all trying to break the mould. Hopefully with a bit of refinement, we will all be enjoying this game for a long time. KOF is here again! |
THE PATCH IS COMING
As for SNK, they just announced the patch has been finished! It is now with Sony who will approve it. Will it be the answer to the concerns? Or just somehow make the game even more amazing? We await with baited breath!
