For those who have never been to or heard of the Sodium Showdown, it is a monthly gaming event were the biggest names in the south west fighting game scene duke it out for pride and cash prizes!
Last month Giga D came and here were his impressions http://orochinagi.com/2012/02/sodium-showdown-7-results

We will be running tournaments and casuals in King of Fighters 13/ Street Fighter 2 ST/ Street Fighter 3/ Street Fighter X Tekken / Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend. All the games will be singles this month, including ST.

The platforms are on the poster.

Entry into the event will be £3 and this will enable you to play all day from 2 until 11. If you bring along a setup you will get in free. Entry into each (except sfxt) tournament will be £1, single elimination and the winner takes all. SFxT is supported by Capcom and has bigger prizes.
This month we have the support of Rising Star games, I hope this means we get awesome prizes for KoF but I haven't been much informed of this yet. Will update when I know.

Signups open at 2pm
Tournaments will will begin with KOF at 15.00 sharp!!!

We now have a much larger area to accomodate setups so please feel free to bring one along Even if you can only bring along a console/speakers or a monitor it all helps.

Limit Break TV will be professionally recording and commentating over all of the finals in each game.

Live brackets updated as matches happen here (I'll make sure it works this time): http://binarybeast.com/xKFXIII1203090

There will also be money/grudge matches at the end after the tournaments have finished which were so damn hype last month including a Wales v Bristol Breaker's Revenge 5v5. However, please note that there are two tiers of these in the South West. The lower grade is the 'Monster Munch' match, where you play for a pack of said crisp. The higher grade involves Jaffa Cakes. McVities' only. For more info you'll need to join the facebook group and check our dictionary. You can of course play for money, but who would want to when you can get Jaffa Cakes? Hell, if Gunsmith comes he better come packing them. <3

There is parking available at Cabot Circus for £7 for 12pm-late on a Sunday and this is only a short walk from the venue. We are also very close to Bristol Temple Meads station. The venue (http://www.thelanesbristol.co.uk) also doubles as a hostel with private rooms available. If you speak nice to people in the group then you might even be able to bunk up with them at their house. In short, there is no reason not to come!

This month we clash with HypeSpotting in Scotland, if you aren't headed there then why not come to us?
