I managed to finish all the deadly descents (boss battles in essence, you vs. the mountain in different natural conditions, rocks, ice, avalanche, etc) in SSX, but the grudge match against Griff I keep losing on. As soon as I get out of the dark cave, my brain shuts off and Griff usually gains an insurmountable lead afterwards. Damn Gromnet.

Gamestop will be jumping tomorrow night since Mass Effect 3 & Vanilla SFxT is coming out. Last midnight release I went to was when NBA2k12 came out, it went smoothly. Paid for my game, ignored sales pitch, went home. But I'm guessing tomorrow night may be a little crowded.

I've been playing UMC3, the heart and soul of SSX is kinda missing for me, but I intend to get back into it soon.

Will be picking up ME3, but on tuesday, I don't want to wait around on midnight with a line full of mouth-breathing-bottom-feeding-loligaggers.

That consideration didn't really came out because of the main girl, but just after seeing a bunch of girls talking in the environment you are after the fight, they all had the same ridiculous skinny model. It didn't occur to me that EVERY girl in the demo was under-age, considering it was a dangerous zone full of military personnel... unless Nomura is setting up some really scary doujinshi.

fucking shit! Finally touched my ps3 and started playing Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan because my gf bought it for her spring break. I had to play the skill games for her, so that sucked me in to playing again. The turtle racing is my love. I hate the archery game. Watermelon baseball is boss. The ninja skill games are frustrating. (I spent a few good hours trying to pass one stage.)

I used to be so psyched for UC3 but now I really don't want to buy any games for ps3 except for Dragon's Dogma and something else that I don't remember.

Speaking of UC3...Foxy, have you tried the new maps yet? I downloaded them yesterday and only played 2 of them.

Nay, I haven't downloaded squat in a while.

Aren't the new maps just the old UC2 maps, which I should be pysched for but have now given up?

There's one where you can swim in now, it's called Graveyard. The other one I played was called London Streets, which was very CoDesque to me, very tight spaces.

Ah, sounds kinda interesting.

I'm just playing Mass Effect 3 multiplayer nowadays. Just a fast and easy way to pass time if I need it to be passed.

So I finally got around to playing the PS3 Twisted Metal - man it was quite disappointing. I wouldn't say I hate it (although a friend of mine and fellow TM fan does) but it seems so ill considered and half assed. I had issues with:

- It's great that the vehicles finally have two specials a piece but why the hell are half of them the same bloody thing? I mean how many guys have chain gun, flame thrower, or shock wave special (or to a lesser degree mines)? Since TM is essentially a variation of a fighting game this is like if 50% of the cast having a Hadouken and Shoryuken. Disappointing and IMO lazy - I could have come up with novel specials easily and I'm no game designer

- Racing should not be part of a TM game - it forces you to use a handful of faster characters and is sloppy and completely half assed. I mean most of the time you get bumped around so much you can't even see where you're going let alone where the stupid gate or checkpoint you're supposed to pass through is. And if you get knocked off the 'path' (which is going to happen - thank you Road Boat) it's a bitch to try and figure out where on the massive levels the next checkpoint is. Yeah it's on the radar but is that blip on the ground, on a second floor of a building, or on the roof? If they really wanted to force racing on you they should have made levels just for racing - not adapted the massive standard levels. And truthfully this should have been an optional side mode anyway - not part of the actual campaign.

- Controls were not up to par for me - I spent most of my time careening into walls (especially with the faster cars on race levels). And the advanced secondary attacks (rear freeze, absorbing shield) never worked for me - even though the command was just a simple combo of triangle and a direction on the D pad. And for God's sake - why isn't there a control scheme that allows for D pad control (like say every other TM game in existence) - I've been using that control style for years; forcing analog on me (with it's stupid reverse on a separate analog stick) is just retarded

- There were a few skill based specials and weapons but all and all I'd say the game is less rewarding of technique then TM Black (i.e. in TMB you got damage bonus for say T-boning opponents with Darkside's ram - nothing of the sort in TMPS3). I don't like TMPS3's dumbed down feel

- SPOILERS: The PS3 version's final boss encounter didn't belong in a TM game. As much as I liked TM Black I hated it's end boss (a helicopter) because you could only hit it with two pick up weapons - most of the characters specials had zero chance of touching a flying opponent. It just felt forced and out of place with the series feel (ie. again, car combat). TM Head On's final boss had similar issues with it's final form. TMPS3 took this design philosophy (aka flaw) and ran with it to new heights (of crappiness).

I was fine with the first part of the PS3 finale but the second area was nothing like a TM game (not to mention completely unintuitive as to what the hell you're supposed to be doing - an issue with the first part of the 2nd boss IMO). The third part was annoying and out of place (an obstacle course??) but the final part felt nothing like a TM game. Honestly it was more of a cargo moving simulation than a car combat title. Forcing you to use a specific character (the bloody helicopter) was even worse.

This is a car combat game - I want the tense hit and run encounters with powerful opponents that you had in TM1 and TM2. Fights where you can use your own strategy along with your characters special and various weaponary (all the weapons - not just the two the developers feel are right) to win. TMPS3's end boss was just a series of predetermined steps required to achieve a boring/frustrating/hollow victory.

- One of the playable characters in TMPS3 is a fucking helicopter. This is a car combat game damnit! Having a flying character completely ruins the equity of the game (see my issues with TMB's final boss). If the developers really love their fucking helicopters then make another Warhawk game - leave them out of car combat you idiots!!!

I love this series but am quite disappointed with this entry. Based on the series recent pattens I don't know if I'd consider buying it's inevitable sequel...
