In this age of consumerism anything niche is similar to being dead. The scene wasn't dead, but it was pretty stagnant with exception to Tekken and a few others.

Honestly, I see where your coming from however I really don't agree with that. Why do people always assume niche is a bad thing? I can think of many games that are niche titles but have great support such as Disgaea or Persona...but that's an entirely new topic for another day.

I'm just saying the scene wasn't dead, it may not have been as glamorized as it is today but certainly not dead. Well I say "glamorized" because everyone and their momma want to be pro gamers these days.

Though I can say that times have changed so much between when PS3 and 360 first released and today.

Niche isn't bad, but mainstream just means more support. I'm firmly anti-corporate, but niche is essentially saying one foot in the grave. Fighting games are still quite popular in Japan where it was somewhere above niche and yet losing to purikuri machines, but before Street Fighter 4, fighting games were all but dead in North America, which like it or not is the market for gaming on the international scale.

You have to allow Flaming Iori. There is virtually no footage on him and having a bunch of lads having their way with him is going to be the best publicity you are going to get in a long while. In fact you should make a stupid rule that forces people to play him or someone else new (Saiki or Billy). Or not?

I bet that even his victory poses are going to create a buzz, anything is going to help. Also, if you do forbid the character aren't you like, going to get backlash and whatnot? the game doesn't need polemic episodes like those.

Ah!, that's it. If we even assume that the game that is being tested right now was printed like a month ago, the fact that it doesn't has all of the changes that the final version is going to have that says a lot. So it's pretty clear what "delay the game for quality reasons" meant, they are still not happy with the changes that they have done and might thing of them as too little.

Saturday will be interesting... theoretically if the copy has been printed but doesn't include all the changes, that means we will have a big patch coming... that's good because we can give feedback before they release the patch
