- you can't run away from battles

If I ever run into a back attack, I might as well press the reset button on my PS2.

Ughh what possessed you to try this, P? Hard is bad enough but with stock demons (are you going for the True Demon ending? who even has pierce as a default skill?)??. Yikes

You should play SMT: Strange Journey on the DS - it's fun and has old school appeal (read: grinding, high encounter rates, plottable maps with annoying blind teleports/pits/blackout sections). Despite the previous text it actually is fun and I am enjoying it.

No idea, I guess I wanted a challenge that tested my skills and decision making since one wrong move could lead me to a game over. I just finished the prison and the game seems to be quite easier now but still not easy enough for me to go autopilot on enemies. Yeah I'm going for TDE. After this challenge, I think I'm gonna stick to normal modes for SMT games for a long while.

I played a bit of SJ but what makes SJ different from Nocturne?

Despite having 0 interest in it, I binged through RE5 after a friend lent it to me.
I loved RE4 so much that I enjoyed this quite a lot despite being more or less a poor copy of it. Damn, is the choice of settings wasted: I kind of expected to see mutations of ferocious animals like lions or elephants, or even old giant snakes + spiders; instead it's just ganados + a few dumb monsters from older games. Then again if there was something cool i would have heard of it by now. Also having random spaniard-like people in the middle of an African suburb to cover the controversy is probably too dumb for words.
Mercenaries is still pretty awesome though.

Bottom line: play RE4 again next time.

Been digging through my 360 library (yup I am now a proud owner of a 360S, er make that one that works).
Getting through Tomb Raider Underworld has been a humbling surprise. I trekked over Legend and Anniversary to reconnect the missing dots.
Oddly enough I didn't notice a certain connection with Stargate before. But I wonder how this revamp of the series may effect its entirety.

Finished Crysis 2 recently. Decent game, but on the whole I would have liked it more if it didn't hold your hand so much. Also stealth seems way too good - I literally cloaked past a bunch of the 'epic' firefights the developers had tried to set up. Maybe I should have been playing on Hard?

Anyway with that out of the way I've gone back to some older PC games that I never played back in the day, starting with Max Payne. Although I think this will be derailed by the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution tomorrow...

Hold your hand? I thought the uncharted series did that WAY more and that game gets heaps of praise.

In order to beat supersoldier level, cloaking is necessary. You wont stand a chance in a gunfight even with all your perks.

I enjoyed the game and was kinda confused on the story (had to read about crysis 1 since ive never played it) and opens up for a sequal. The online tho is another story.....worse fps online ive played.

I meant compared to Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead. Those games basically said "here's your objective, now go do it," and the process of figuring out what approach worked best was left entirely up to you, which I enjoyed a lot. In Crysis 2 on the other hand you get 'helpful' hints about where everything is in a given area (including, usually, the best stealth route).

Not to mention that stealth is almost always the best option (barring a few circumstances where you have to clear the arena of enemies or fight a boss). This wasn't the case in Crysis 1 or Warhead since your cloak meter was significantly shorter and there were a fair number of areas you just couldn't cloak through because of the lack of cover.

I played 3rd Strike Online all day today. It's been really good for my self esteem because kids these days can't parry or even block sometimes. Oh, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution is really good as well.

I want to get it soon for similar reasons, before people that can actually play it jump in and rape my Hugo with Yun while i watch, impotent and alone. Do you have it on Ps3 Bugle? I'm reading it might have a few issues.

I've got it on 360. My experience with the netcode has been good, and about 90% of my games ran flawlessly. The measure of ping is just a color from red to green. Green and yellow have been great, orange is manageable, and red is bad. I've only been playing with random people, so I can't say how well it works across the country, etc.

I'm going to be getting the MS points to buy 3sO today. Pumped.

Since this thread seems to be a blog for the games we're playing, I've really only been playing AE, but I've messed around with HDR and MvC2.
HDR... O.Sagat is OP. But you knew that anyway.

MvC2... I've looked at two teams: B.B. Hood/Juggernaut/CapCom, and Iron Man/War Machine/Doom. The first one has B.B. Hood on point to build meter then unleashes a THC to punish a mistake, and generally benefits from a glitched Juggernaut. The second one has Iron Man on point, and has a very creative way of setting up the Iron Man Infinite. This would be good if I could do the infinite, but whatever.

AE... This is where it gets very interesting. Well, as interesting as AE gets. *sweatdrop

I put it in the Super Street Fighter IV thread, so those of you who hate SFIV (*cough*Dark Chaotix*cough*) don't have to read it if you don't want to.

I have to confess something.. I took my copy of MVC3 in to trade for store credit.. for KOFXIII (and Sonic Gen).
It may sound a bit defensive on some levels, but I honestly got tired of keeping up with a game that wasn't clearly finished.
But having to buy it all over again as Ultimate MVC3, I dunno I have to think it over. I'm looking towards KOFXIII and Sonic Gen more.
