Arcana Heart 3- Parace L'sia confirmed for port!!

Alright, time to spread the word on this game. Most people still don't even know it even exists. I'm one of the AH fans that has gotten over the crap PS2 port and has moved on. So enough about that. On to the AH3 info.

3 big system changes:

1.Arcana Guage: Functions as the variable for supers, Arcana supers, Guard Cancel, Homing, Homing Cancel, and Arcana Homing. Performing any of the actions would deplete a bar, but the stocks will automatically regenerate over time.

2.Force Guage(A+B+C): Allows the player to perform Extend Force - which is pretty much a evolved form of Arcana Force. During Extended Force, characters and their respective Arcana may gain various power ups, as well as be able to perform Arcana Blaze.

3.Arcana Blast(C+E): Arcana Blast will now be used as means for escaping mid-combo (will still launch the opponent across the screen like in previous AH). Unlike AH2, Arcana Blast can be perfomed in the air. Extended Force will not be available for given amount of time after performing Arcana Burst.

-AH3 is a lot faster than previous entries in the series.
-Critical Hearts will be powered-up if performed during Extend Force.
-Certain characters have artificial Arcana called a Geist.

Three new characters:

Weiß - She is now the official new protanganist. Not Heart anymore. Uses energy swords to fight.
She has a contract with Gottfreid the "Tyr" Geist.

Eko- 5yr old who rides a green monster she created from her drawings named Kaz.
She has contract with Saligrama the "Luck" Arcana.

Scharlachrot- New playable Mid-Boss. Uses chains for fight with.
She has a contract with Baldur the "Fenrir" Geist.

I have the PS2 port of AH1 - I quite like the game. Fun system, but I have no-one to play it against :(

Examu seems to have given up on making home ports after the disastrous AH2 port, so I have to hope that an arcade near me somehow gets hold of a copy of AH3.

Well, players that skipped on S!AH2 will be glad to know that going from AHFull!to AH3 is not as drastic as it seems. I've listed the major sytem changes in the starting post. Other than that, let's see........

.....while AH1 is very solid, it has a fairly slow pace to it. AH3 on the other hand, is extremely fast. I think it even beats the speed of Guilty GearXXAC.

-Since the last game you played was AH1, there are Critacal Hearts now. They take 3 supers to perform. They do even more damage in AH3 than AH2 but will be harder to use since Supers/Homing both share the same bars.

-Cross-ups are much more apparent in AH3. AH1 barely had any and they were kinda hard to get.

-More overheads.

-Much more character variety.

-Homing cost nothing outside of a combo now.

-In AH1/2 players had to use Arcana Force to get outta combos. Though by doing that, it wastes any super you may have had. That has changed to Arcana Blast. It doesn't give Arcana specific power-ups anymore like in AH2 but it can now be used during a combo to knock opponent across the screen. It has a stronger knock away than the Burst feature in Guilty Gear.

-Having Extend Force as a separate bar, you don't have to waste all your supers just so you can use Arcana Blaze. Also, Mildred(Halo Arcana) is much more useful because going into Arcana Force in AH2 summons her. When Mildred is out she has her own moves and sorta acts as a Stand/Persona.

-AH1 had a very cheap boss called Mildred. She is an Arcana now(Halo) for her twin sister Angelia. There is an even cheaper boss in S!AH2 her name is Parace L'Sia with the Arcana of Life. AH3 has a pretty cool last boss called Ragnarok.

I've updated Catherine's page almost completely. The only things I'm not finished with yet is the Arcana and Combo section. I'm going to add more description on the special moves as well. I haven't been to Austin in a while to figure out some new combos. I'll have to go there soon.

Parace L'Sia returns form Suggoi! Arcana Heart 2. As a console exclusive character. She'll probably be tha same overpowered boss like in S!AH2. Most of her moves before were just powered up versions of other Arcanas. Though she did havesome of her very own sweet moves. Like the Instant Kill.

Anyway, here's some more info on Parace

- She was an Alchemist during the Renaissance. Even after she died her soul went to the Arcana world. Where she became the Arcana of Life.
-Calls herself the "Milleniuum Keeper". Similar to how Kamui is the "Millennnium Protector" and Konoha is the "Millennium Guard"
- Also a Doctor
- From Switzerland
- Has fought Kamui several times in the past
- Lilica's Father, Rajzel von Felchenerow worked with Parace.
- was an acquaintance of Clarice during her time as a vicious demon
- Very bad ethics and vague standards of what's right and wrong
- Obsessed with life. So she does not like lazy people.
- The golden bangle worn on her arm(normal) and leg(Arcana form) seems to be used to gain a material body when passing through dimensions.

I started playing S!AH2 recently on PCSX2. I can't really say it's terrible yet, since it's my first time playing any of the games, and I have to use my keyboard since I don't have an arcade stick yet. But I don't know if I want to play the original, since it lacks Zenia and all.

I'm very excited for the AH3 port, though, hopefully the 360 version will be region-free or I'll have a PS3 before it's released.

Oh, also, the art in 3 is a HUGE improvement over 2's. I can't stand 2's art...

I've been trying out the arcade dump of the game, and I have to say, I'm fairly impressed. It's very fast, fluid, and fun, easy to pick up and play, and has a surprisingly solid roster. I don't like most of the characters' designs, but I think they're just about all really fun to play as, and I can tell there's a lot more to it than I can access. I'll definitely be playing it often from now on.

Right now I think my favorites gameplay-wise are Akane and Dorothy, but it's a shame that I'm so bad with Zenia. She's like badass incarnate.

I'm actually currently wondering if I should spring for the import PS3 version or wait in the hope that Aksys Games will pick this up. I enjoyed whatever little I played of Arcana Heart 1 on PS2, and this looks all-around better.
