So I'm playing though Apollo Justice right now. All I have to say so far is that somehow the payoff for case 3 ended up being even less satisfying in English than it was in Japanese.
I also find it really weird how Klavier/Kyouya sprinkles German (really bad German, mind) throughout his sentences but Kristoph/Kirihito does no such thing. Aren't they siblings?
From Kotaku: "Phoenix Wright meet Professor Layton. Capcom's lawyer is going to appear in a game with Level-5's famous puzzle-solving sleuth.
Today in Tokyo, Level-5 revealed a Professor Layton and Ace Attorney crossover Nintendo 3DS game currently titled "Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney".
Ace Attorney creator Takumi Shuu will be working on the title, and the game's theme will be puzzles that are full of contradictions. Sounds perfect for a legal puzzle mash-up.
The game is set in Labyrinth City. The background is medieval, and the city is populated with witches. The villain is named the "story teller" and whatever he writes with his pen becomes reality.
The in-game trial is called "The Trial of the Witch", since Phoenix Wright's client is accused of being a witch."

I've been slowly working my way through the series ever since I picked up the first game on WiiWare quite some time ago. Today I finally finished Investigations, which means that, sadly, I'm done. The series is still going strong in Japan, with Gyakuten Kenji 2 being released last year and the upcoming Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney and Gyakuten Saiban 5 being announced. It's a shame Capcom has no plans for the future of the series in the US, especially since it has a history of great localizations, and I imagine fan translations would struggle to meet the level of quality fans have grown accustomed to. Guess I'll have get my copy of Ghost Trick back from my brother so I can absorb more of Shu Takumi's mad genius.
