* In "Reverse moon" , 衝 means something like "opposite" but only in astrology, so I went for that since stabbing moon doesn't sound right in my head.
* For "eight maidens", that name is referencing the Orochi legend on which 8 maidens were meant to be sacrificed, thus is usually translated as maiden smasher.
* Yatagarasu is a mythical crow in Asia. In Japan one of it's interpretations is supposedly rebirth after tragedy, which is kinda fitting considering that this is Iori after losing his powers.

I'm half guessing pretty much all of the move list (I'm not even sure of the numbers ), if anyone has any other interpretations feel free to tip me off.

* Iai is the art and technnique of unsleashing an attack from a sheated sword, and then quickly return it to it's sheat (Ukyo and and Hibiki are designed with this in mind). Iai has a connotation of "strucking down" or "cutting down", since the sword is solely used for the decisive strike and nothing else.
* I have mentioned this one before, but Handou would be "recoil" (can also go for reaction) and Sandan would be "(in) 3 steps" or "3 parts". Geri is "to kick".
* I went by Benimaru Corridor, because the attack is based on a Tokusatsu show "The Red Baron" and the finishing move "Baron Corridor" (I think that it has to do with an electric circuit or something?). Thanks to the Inazuma Kick, people also assimilate this one to Gunbuster and His Buster Corridor (or was it collider?), however that move from Noriko is also inspired in the Tokusatsu show it falls in the pot and kettle category. If you are wondering why everyone translate this name differently, it's because コレダー has like 40 different interpretations.
* It should be obvious, but 雷光拳 and 雷皇拳 are both pronounced "Raikoh Ken", and even though they are pronnounced the same, they mean different things.

* "Heaven to hell" is a term, a; how to explain it? it's like it encompasses everything. For example in Spanish when you are searching for something and you say "I'm going to look in the sky and land" you are implying that you aren't going to left stone unturned. "from heaven to hell" means that you "pass" by the 3 reals, heaven, human realm & hell", so there is no realm that isn't going to be considered. So he is basically throwing you the hell away.
* Ukemi is a type of roll recovery that it's part of the training regimen in Judo, it's used to reduce damage (though most sports judo throws do absolutely no damage) and it's used to prevent scoring from the enemy (your back doesn't touch the ground)

So, I suppose it could be fun to do a basic status update.

- Why was the thread un-active for so long?

Well, back in... September or something, I think; I had to spend like 3 or 4 weeks in a place with no internet and I couldn't dilly dally on my own with my PC even in an off-line environment... So basically I had to send to cold sleep every type of personal interest related to the XXth century during that time. By the time I returned to the civilized world there it was a bunch of stuff that I had to caught up, not only recreational stuff but also obligations, thus I pretty much forgot that this thread existed tehe☆

It wasn't until late October that I remembered about this stuff, but for some reason or another every time that I wanted to spend my free time doing this some sort of excuse managed to pop up to delay doing this and I went to do other things (clean the room, go to drink, ask someone over, etc etc), just recently I could convince myself with arguments like "it's been long enough".

That's technically impossible, because while I was lazing around in formatting the translations for the thread, I was still kinda working. The result? I'm actually technically finished with all of the speech translation work that I had to do, that includes typesetting the kanji, translating the meanings, fitting the dialogs to the sound tests and the character actions & seeing what fits where. The only thing that I have left to do is translating the movelists and the profiles, I have some of the VA stuff done already as well.

I'm definitely not going to post a character a day or something like that, but I'm going to aim to have everything done before the thread gets a year old (that would be January 9, like 3 weeks from now on? I'm probably not going to make it to Jan 9, but it's definitely going to be within January)

- What are you going to do after this?

Well, I'm probably going to silently edit & correct some mistakes or typos or things throughout the thread every time I can muster enough motivation (that's not going to be very often). I'm so not looking forward to giving this type of effort for the next KoF or something.

Well, someone pointing out where I mess up is always helpful. When it comes to doubts, well, I have to triple check some things with my own notes, I'll probably update my own list of question that I need help with in the weekend (it's in the first page). If it's something peculiar that you are interested, there is always PM (though I don't check them oftenly, har har).
