Delay the AB after dp+C a little and it should work.

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
Thx, I'll try that.
I have this feeling that Marco players will really like him. He doesn't move like a KOF character.
It's all about that C > dash > A xx B > A > x2 B
Otherwise I find him really hard to use. He needs to have you in the corner and then get that C to hit.
Lots of high damage combos but very easy to mess up by doing a haohshokoken instead of his or in the middle of a combo.
Or you can play him like Ryo. Bleh, I prefer Ryo.
He's got some cheap tactics, eg: guard crush > dm/nm but he doesn't even need it.
And that's day 1 for me. Let's see how it goes.

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
One thing that AS|Reynald (I think?) was using to decent effect in last night's UCI King of Fridays ranbat was the stand C reset after a combo into super jump mixup.

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
the c shortcut works well but overlaps with c
the japanese dont use the c dash combo at all it seems
but prefer to use b
need more studying! learning karate is a priority

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
well take a look here,
alice uses a bypass and just drive cancels, which is much easier.
Looking over some other vids, some players do use the c dash, but im gonna look for the other examples of using the k

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
I didnt see a bypass, just a standard HD activation combo. But Ill take your word for it.
I should revisit the SS vids as Im sure Tokido would have something like that.

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
no, u r right, it was a hd... i was watching on my phone before.
so what is the optimal hd combo for karate, using 2 stock max?
It seems you can squeeze out more damage by cancelling, not drive cancelling, the c and doing k ...?

I would think so, but not too sure. Might do some testing and find out.
Im assuming that an anywhere combo or corner only?

Re: KOF XIII: Mr Karate
ok so .... messing around and dammit his timing is hard, no spamming allowed - apart from when you do non HD combos

This is like the first combo to learn, and once you understand the timing ie: 2nd needs to be immediately after the first, then you can upgrade.
The first thing is to substitute the last for
And then do a afterwards
Now we can start adding drive cancels.
the last xx
This actually needs to catch the opponent not too high and not too low, but quite low from the ground, while the cancel needs to be done at the height of the . It's flexible so you may find different ways to do it.
Then you add /DM/SDM afterwards, any you like
then to further extend the combo, after the last > xx

The final extension I could manage was

After an hour or two, it's not that hard, HD mode (and having to delay the AB break after the is something else).
I'm fairly sure you can squeeze a in there somewhere.
And then after struggling with that, I checked the tutorial video from CC Asia and realised there are those combos I was talking about. The tutorial wasn't really a tutorial at all, considering the game has a demo mode to show you how to do the combo. Question is, is anyone else here tier whoring enough to want one?
And that HD loop is still baffling me. It's xx > AB, xx > AB.... right?
