This month's Arcadia contains a big XIII strategy guide as well as initial guesses at tiers going into Tougeki - they seem to think K', Mature and Iori will be top with possible counter-picks being Kyo, Maxima and Elisabeth.

Also there's a list of high damage HD combos, which I'll transcribe into each character's thread when I get back. Or, if someone has the time before I get back from work, you can download the scans (generously posted by sugarboy here: http://cyberfanatix.com/forums/index.ph ... l#msg30470) and transcribe them yourself.

Initial reaction to KOF XIII seems pretty decent in Tokyo, Japan; it comes at a nice time when stock SF 4 popularity is waning, and with BlazBlue CS never really reaching the popularity levels of Guilty Gear, there's a decent amount of people willing to dunk their 100 yen coin in to gauge the newest fighter on the block. I don't really see any other 2D fighter other than Super SF 4 coming along for a while, so hopefully the popularity continues for a while.

I'd forgotten how much fun it was to be able to play a game at a decent level in an arcade. Close fights still get my heart pumping, and the stage that is the crowded arcade never fails to generate an aura of excitement as people look on to see who will be the next guy to take a shot at kicking the incumbent off the machine. I'm still appalled by how some of the bugs managed to skip out of QA testing (Takuma/Goro not needing meter for EX moves, Vice's easy infinite etc), but so far the game still looks like it's fun enough to overlook them for now.

I prefer calling him Mad Blood Spiral Ash than Dark Ash.

If you read 螺旋 as 'Rasen' you get the spiral meaning... but considering the back ground of the game, I wonder if it's not better to read it as "neji" which is a "key" mean to be used for clocks, which would get a really different meaning to the title... Then again It's not like I can consult this with anybody.
