Yay happy birthday Shermie and Ash! Now to be sad that Shermie isn't in 13:(

Eh, I have been sick for so long that I haven't played in a few weeks. I played SC5 a bit but eh, it's boring now. Now I gotta get back on that KOF13 train and fix up my team. I'm not sure but I may drop Leona for now to try someone new, just gonna do some testing maybe tomorrow after I get home.

Also thinking of picking up the new BlazBlue since I did enjoy the others.

Ok, went to my first local KOFXIII tournament and got blown out 2-0
ugghhh haven't trained hard in KOF since KOF98

I haven't decided on a full team yet, please help me decide on my 3rd teammate

So far decided:
Iori (claw or flames), Clark

and either

K', Takuma, Andy, or NESTS Kyo.

K' - I'm okay with him, but I can't do his HD combos, and I can't seem to maintain consistent pressure. His moveset is all great, but I always end up jumping around too much with him instead of going in all the time. If I have him on my team, he will be on point with K', Clark, Iori

Takuma - Probably my last choice, mostly because I can't do his HD combos, but from all the videos I've seen, his HD combos are crazy town. His fireball is huge, his jump attacks are great, he's got good normals, but he needs meter to do heavy damage. If I have him on my team, I will either have Takuma in the middle or as anchor.

Andy - Overall I feel good with him, his specials are good, but his jump arc is high and and I haven't seen too many long HD combos with him. The great thing about him is that he doesn't really need too much meter to do damage. I don't know who his bad matchups are. If I have Andy on the team, I will either have him on point first or in the middle switching up with Clark.

NESTS Kyo - I feel good about him, but since fireballs and uppercuts are stronger in this game, I have to find a way to get in safely and maintain pressure. I can actually do some of his HD combos. The main thing about Kyo is that the only 2 ways to get heavy damage with Kyo is with his double kicks juggle or with HD combos. If I use NESTS Kyo, I will probably have him on point with Kyo, Clark, and Iori

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
For my 3rd char, I don't know who their bad matchups are, so any advice would be great. Thanks!

My current team is Kyo, Clark, Iori. No DLC. And played in that order, every time.

I'd say pick EX Kyo, but you're going to have to play offensive, while normal Kyo can hang back and play fireball games. I actually use Kyo to build stock for the other two members, and he doesn't need to do any fancy combos as he gets lots of opportunities to hurt with crouching B into whatever.

The choice for you should be made on how much training you want to put into that character. If you watched the WGC stream with Mr KOF winning 2vs2 with Andy, it might change your mind! Otherwise Kyo is easy to learn.

As a tournament player, you also might want to consider what would give you the advantage - lots of people use Kyo, while less use Andy, giving you a temporary advantage because they might not know the match up. Andy is a solid character but will take more time to learn.

Takuma is a good choice, but apart from his jump CD, he lacks an instant anti air, only doing better when he has stock and can start using SDM. I personally think he would take the most time to train up.

I've just been spending pretty much the whole day learning a 75% combo with Kyo and I have a feeling I'm going to have to dumb it down because I won't be able to do it under pressure. Again, it won't matter too much because he can be left to build stock and can easily murder any character in the game with basic combos and attack patterns. Shouldn't be much different for EX Kyo. That's my recommendation.

MLG just announced their lineup for fighting games for their Winter Championships. Guess which game made the cut?

I just had the final confirmation that online rankings mean shit. Just beat really easily 3 games out of 4 the 4th in ranking, omega-ed or something. He has a very very basic fb game and I'm kind of amazed he has 800+ wins and 150ish losses.

Then again I can see mature pretty high there certainly deserving it, ianimo-do is a great player as well albeit he's from Mexico and I haven't played him since the patch filtering.

I'm thinking about writing a robert/andy flowchart where everything ends to --->PANIC when things don't work out.

So there's an update to the iPhone version (KOF-i) which seems to have done nothing but remove Challenge Mode from the game and delete the Iori team and the Elisabeth team. Weird

Also the icon is K' now, wee

I noticed that IDVerna and Naphalm are making lots of points but they both noobs. I keep bumping into Naphalm but he DOESNT fight me nor resets he just let me win..... and he keeps giving me winz of 150. Idverna is the same but HOW no idea. from the top 10 Verna does not belong in there and I have fought ed but hes got an incredible amaount of lag! starts green connection then after second round goes like running on mud EXTREMELY slow. it feels as if downloads is happening in full force. it reminds me of ArcadeXinfinity people like him uses lag terams like Saiki Ash Kim King kenzo athena mai fireball people or jumpy people. with that kind of LAG a noob can win without a single issue specially trapping in the corner and using Ash or kim.

I've been trying to find some info on how to watch the KoF MLG matches, but the MLG site's design isn't helping.
As far as I can tell it'll be between the 23rd and 24th, but it's not clear if those matches will be streamed, and if so, fre or PPV.
If the latter, depending on the price I could consider spending a bit to help support the viability of the game there - however, I have serious doubts there's a way to pay only specifically for the KoF stuff.
Has anyone here looked more deeply into that to figure out the situation?
