My moonspeak is...sketchy (non existent) at best. But Persona 4 fighting game? STempest or anyone that have translation abilities, is this true?

Yes, you're right. It'll have characters from Persona 3 and 4, and is called 'Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena'.
Also, it's being developed by Arc System Works for Atlus. Specifically, the BlazBlue team.

I don't know any of the Persona characters but here are the ones confirmed so far (I think?):
Izanagi, Tomoe, Jiraiya, Athena

Apparently they're also working on a PSVita version of Persona 4, and have confirmed Persona 5 is in development.

Persona fighting game??!?? I don't know what to make of that. The characters SS lists are the characters' personas from P4 (well save Athena who's Aigis' P3 persona). I wonder if this will just be a fighting game where the personas battle or if the characters will factor in somehow (kinda like JoJo with it's characters and stands).

It's sad that I'm not more excited about this - was a time that I'd love to have one of my favorite series combined with one of my favorite genres (and from a reputable fighting game producer at that). Unfortunately I just can't seem to get into fighters anymore. Well, there's alway academic interest in this lovely oddity.

Only thing turning me off from that game is that it's most likely going to use that 'japanese' style engine ala GG, BB, AH, MB, etc.

I''m hoping characters from all Persona games are in but I highly doubt it (want Tatsuya).

Good God - that looks pretty. I love the game inspired backgrounds - they bring back lovely memories of P4 (hopefully they'll have some of the soundtrack in this game as well). My immense love of P4 is now compelling me to desire this product.

The character select screen shown on Kotaku shows what looks like Yukiko from P4 (High Priestess). I see what I'm assuming is the P3 main (Fool arcana on the left but the artwork doesn't look like the character I remember). Or maybe that's Aigis (did they switch her to Fool in FES? I dunno...).

Based on those shots I'd say Rise is unlikely (she seems to be narrating aspects of the battle in one of the screen shots)

Since they're going characters here I'd say that non specific persona's are probably out. Shame

Bufu, however, will still find a way

Shoji Meguro is apparently working on the soundtrack of the game, so you should probably rest easy when it comes to that.

Looking forward to hear how the game system would be like.

At second glance, you're right, it's Aigis. Sure as hope she's not the only character repping P3. It needs some dogs in it.

Just saw the direct feed screenshots. In love, I am. I know very little of this franchise, yet I want this more than I want SFxT.

I am quite happy with this fighting game renaissance we are having.
